I don't even care about the free shield (except before bed time) because I break almost all my shields whenever I have a chance to do more than 2 raids in a row. The trophies lost are negligible, and about 75% of the attacks against my base are simply for the TH, and losing only 1-2k of each resource. I'll easily make those trophies up in 1 farming raid, and protect my resources at the same time. Win-win.
