The chain reaction.

So I read lots and lots of threads about the new update being unpopular and I don't blame the clashers. When it came out I was really upset cause all of a sudden I would lose more elixir loot than I was storing. So I made the decision to step down to below 2000 trophies, as a th10 player, from 3317 that I was. That's when I found peace and started to increase my elixir resources. The reason for that is known to all clashers. Less expensive troops to build, no spells and ofcourse infirior opponents (th9).

Nevertheless I see a lot of th10 bases, even maxed out th10's at 2000 trophies. How many times would you find your base being attack by just the queen as an attempt of the opponent to drop trophies. I personally hundreds of times after the update.

so here is my opinion, I may be wrong ofcourse. A large majority of middle trophy players (up to let's say 3200 trophies) will step down to lower leagues, if they haven't already. As a result th9 bases will drop even lower. As long as th9 and lower th bases drop further to the bottom, many of the th10 players will follow them. It's logical I believe. Very few people want to make an expensive attack and those that do want to make that kind of attacks are very high in the trophy leagues. The majority of players want inexpensive attacks with lots of loot to grab, so they can develop faster. Thus those th10's will drop trophies.

what would this mean? Less and less th10 bases will be left for the elite th10's and th11 bases at high trophy leagues thus they will have to spend endless time searching for opponents. As a result eventually I believe they too will make the decision to step down a league or two to find more opponents. After all who would like to be at the top and not be able to attack anyone anymore. The game is supposed to be about attacking and defending. If you don't attack then it's not fun in my opinion. So they too will step down.

end result will be that the higher leagues will become a desert. Pointless place to be, while the lower leagues will become over crowded. Keeping a lot of th10's, such as myself, in lower trophy leagues is devastating for the lower th's. On every attack I make i steal so much resources from the lower th's that sometimes I sit back and think, and I actually feel sorry for the other guy who was trying so hard to get those resources to build an upgrade, and an opportunist th10 would come and easily steal so much. I mean it's unfair. But then again is the only way I can keep my own development going on, to the expense of his.

would most players on lower leagues be interested with the complains of the higher league players regarding facing a desert up there? Ofcourse not. Majority of the lower league players would not bother cause at that point they believe it doesn't affect them. Same goes the other way round. Would the higher league players be interested if the lower league ones get hammered everyday? Ofcourse the majority would not care. It doesn't seem to affect their play. But if you look at it closely it affects everyone's game. An imbalance in the lower or the higher leagues will affect each other. It's a chain reaction.

so how can we fix this? I honestly don't know. I wish I had a secret Santa spell to make all this be balanced, but I don't (supercell removed it from the game 😄).

i believe that very few players actually left the game and are not playing anymore, atleast not the ones that have been playing this game for more than a year. Most players loved and still love this game no matter if they feel unhappy. They keep playing the game, they keep trying to adapt to the new game style. They might even be playing more hours than before just to compensate from the luck of mainly elixir resources. The majority of players are not yet ready to leave the game. They are still hanging in there, still trying to find a solution. For how much longer you will ask? I honestly don't know. I assume eventually if they are not happy they will leave the game, uninstall it and move on.

Guess this describes the current situation pretty well, and supercell take the complains positively, the majority is still engaged...

My my point of view: this game is like a relationship, you love and hate each other from time to time, sometimes people yelling at each other, but they stay together because there is something in common. But eventually when there is no 'yelling' anymore this means you are close to a divorce...

you (supercell) better listen before the yelling stops...

I dropped to 900 cups after the update and I've seen plenty of maxed th10s and some th11s here. I'm also spending much less time in the clouds between searches than I would've before the update, I remember one time when I dropped about a month before the update I was seeing about 5-10 seconds of clouds at 900 cups, but now searches are almost instantaneous and the clouds don't get bad until 700 cups. That proves how bad the situation is now.

Please feel free to say your opinion on the original post. I know it's very long and maybe boring to read but it would be nice to hear some of your thoughts. Maybe this way we can all contribute in a way to fix the current issues.

I agree completely with your post. When I first read about the update I thought it would make the higher leagues a good place to be, so I pushed to champion from gold. After the update hit, I spent a week there and realized I would'nt progress as fast as I would in lower leagues so I dropped. Max TH9 except some walls and my queen.

The games always been unbalanced as any game can be. Town hall sniping hid that fact. Simple as that. Before the update, people that didn't want to get hammered," and knew they would" town hall outside for a free shield! Stupid game play really, townhall should be protected. But supercell was making that cheddar and decided to leave it alone for a while. If for some reason you think that supercell cares about this game or any of its player base "man you haven't been paying attention". Supercell is as shady as a company can get. Now they are just at a point where they want to squeeze a little more juice out of the soft skulled, money spending, player base. LoL yeah after this blows over they will do this or that but "quality product" is not an idea, supercell has ever or will ever ,subscribe to. No by no means take my word for it. Take a good long look at their games and their history "business practices " for yourself. Mull that over for a while, let it soak in real deep.

This is exactly what I did. Surely supercells intentions were for us all to push, I don't understand why they didn't incentivise it more? It wasn't hard to see how it was going to end up if they didn't. Now we're all in lower leagues than previously...

yup. they make the updates as ridiculous as they want, lots of people will continue to play until the mobile industry becomes obsolete. users don't mull over sc past business history practices. i'm sure angry birds still gets the downloads even though rovio isn't churning in the coins as they used to.

I share a different opinion with you my friend. I can't really believe that a company would make one of the most popular games and then desire to squeeze a bit more out of the players and as a side effect kill their product. I do believe that SC cares about this game, like any game developing company cares when the game is going well and having a profit. Why break something that gives you profit.

Saying that, I believe the company tried to fix something they thought was wrong in the game but did not realize the extent of the damage it would trigger. Now they are in a bit of tight spot. I will not disagree with the statement that the new update might have been targeting to force people to spend more gems. Maybe that is true aswell but what I believe is that SC is really in a tight spot now and they are surely trying to fix the problems in regards to the new update.

The only issue is that they have to be very very sure that the new version of the game will be "safe proof" and not trigger another wave of disappointment. That is why they are taking so long. I believe they have been informed of the probable issues in gameplay and now are looking at the game data to see if all the complains are actually true. Remember, numbers never lie if you know how to interpret them.

what is the best way to fix the current issues? I don't know. I don't think it will be easy. Actually I think it would be very hard from SC prospective. Sure, you can say "just roll the update back". I don't think its a matter of pride or the money spent for the update that are the reasons SC has not rolled the update back.

I genuinely believe they are analyzing data to see if what people complain about is actually true in the actual gameplay. I could argue and complain that I cannot get any loot but is that really the case? Is it the gameplay the cause of that, or is it the player himself? They read the data and see the actual income of several bases before the update and after the update. Compare it to the trophy league the players are before and after the update and surely check the same loot generator in other leagues, higher and lower. Everything has to be thoroughly analyzed. There is no room for mistakes anymore.

One thing I strongly agree with most of the posts read, is the communication issue. I have no words on that subject I am sorry. By communication I don't mean the forum administrators or moderators. These guys are responding as much as they can to us clashers. Just read some of their posts. Trying to answer to endless number of questions. But the question is, shouldn't there be more official announcements from SC itself?

Who doesnt adore Jonas? I know I do. I mean look at him, with those feezy hair, round little face and cheeks. He looks like a teddy bear. Who wouldn't be relieved and how many people would stop complaining if he just stood up and said "I know you guys are having trouble right now. I know people are confused with the changes. I even know many of you are frustrated right now but believe me, we at SC are trying really hard to analyze all the data and find the best solution possible so that you and we togehter can make this game reach an unimaginable extent of game excitement." Who would not believe that statement. Surely thousands of clashers would. I know I would believe him and moreover I would feel more confident that things regarding this game will go better.

Having said all that, to sum up, I do believe SC is trying hard to fix the real issues with the update. I do believe and sympathize with the clashers that are having a struggle. And last but not least, I hope the game will be rebalanced, issues fixed and return to its former glory.

Enough said from me, a clasher like all of you guys. Care to comment? By all means do!

Coming to think about it. Shouldn't we all make one big thread to filter all the possible issues we may have in respect to the new update and furthermore place those issues according to the trophy league we are currently at and the th level aswell. Surely the more details we present along with the issue we have, the easier it would be to find a possible solution. Who knows, maybe SC could benefit from such a detailed thread?
