Mods are here because SC doesn't want to pay someone to actively monitor forums. So they use active members of the forums who enjoy the power trip.
Nothing against mods. Simply calling it like I see it.

You know, you could also just pm one, instead of making kinda useless topics like this.
They are here to help and enforce the rules, similar to the police.
It is sometimes hard to see the work of the mods when the forums are so busy. Mods have said that they have been reading and providing feedback to SC. we know that they Have been around trying to help people and meonhoc was trying very hard to replicate some of the Pbt issues to understand the problems that were being experienced. Meonhoc is awesome at stuff like that.
They have been on since this still trying to help people. However when people feel passionately about the update there are a small number of people whose only reason for posting is trolling and flaming. It is those threads that are being closed. I honestly can't think of a 'good' thread that is within the forum rules that has been closed so far.
threads that start off toxic are of little use to the forum. They don't seem to understand the issues and often because of their insulting nature, quickly snowball u less quick action is taken,
trying to deal with such problems is time consuming and results in a negative reflection on moderators which isn't true.
Most least that's how I see things... But im
a little biased :smirk:
I think the fact that this thread is still open says something about how patient the mods are.
Waiting on the first I hate Christmas thread in 3...2...1...;)
In the past week, 14 threads have been merged into the sticky.
Out of the thousands of threads moved... 14 were merged.
As for closed or trashed threads, it's only done if they violate the forum rules that everyone agrees to upon signing up.
Now you might not have seen me the past few days.
It's Christmas time, work is busy, and I was pushing to legend on my main account.
But it if you check my post history, I have had lots to do with the update and helping the community. And I have forwarded hundreds of threads to the staff.
The above apples to all the mods.
My door is always open for any concerns anyone in the community has. Everyone is free to PM or VM me anytime.
However, this isn't a popularity contest nor a setting to discussing moderator actions.
I must be imagining all of the anti-update posts on several pages of General right now...
Why are more anti-update threads tend to be closed more so than pro-update threads? Typically boils down to the demeanor of those posting. Your opinion matters, but your opinion won't be seen if you insist on personal insults and the use of profanity.
I'd like everyone to remember to review this thread by SuperSteve as people seem to be shocked by our desire to maintain a family friendly forum that is welcoming to all age, race and creed:

REMEMBER: Sometimes, it's not YOUR post or thread that was a violation. There are many things that factor into the decisions we make. This is one of the primary reasons for Rule# 19. No opinion is oppressed for simply having an opinion, good or bad. It's when you CROSS that line from constructive discussion to violating forum rules.
If you have issues with Infractions/Warnings/Closings/Merging/Trashing please PM the Moderator that performed the action or any of the moderators listed here with GREEN BADGES. http://forum.supercell.net/showgroups.php
