Interesting read, out of curiosity, what's the age range in your clan?
Hey jimmy, when's the next update?
I have to say bud I relate fully to your story start to finish and it is a pain in the ♥♥♥♥ to find good reliable clans men to join you in the quest for a fun experience.
I'm from a number of different clan most of which I don't remember, how ever 2 stood out in my number of days playing this game.
The last clan I was in (before my current) was A.F.B.s Barbarians great group of people and had several sister clans. The clan banter was strong and the game play was fun. Some experienced and inexperienced players that made for a good range of what to expect. I learned tons from this clan and also from my own game play and though I did eventually leave it was due to my 1 year hiatus not due to lacking by the group in any way.
The current clan that I now co-lead is Team Deadspread it's a pretty different environment but I wouldn't be playing still had they not found me. A fair number of co-workers were playing the game and were active as hell made for a good way to get to know many of them as it was a new job. It is half co workers and half people someone else knows with the occasional rando I've recruited over many months of effort. We sit cassually at about 25 members due to completely fair reasons of what we consider clan laws. But it's a good clan that in mostly active in our late hours of the day probably considered your day time hours (in the U.K.) 7pm-10am PST.
Our wars have gotten better over repeated losses despite a few really good attacks we struggle with basic strategies some times but over all improvement has been incredible. I started a clan page on FB with some videos mostly consisting of my own attacks to give advice for players of our clan that still struggle with the transition of early th war strats to advanced th 8-10 strats (no one has made it to th11 yet). It's a really good group of people but learning and taking advice can be difficult for lower bases I find. Something we are all working on, myself included.
We are at clan level 8 half way to 9 and always seeking new players if you're interested your more than welcome to merge clans with us. If not maybe we can at least do some friendly clan battles here and there to sorta work on building each other's abilities.
BTW I'm online as Richard*Saggin if you go looking for me.
Sweet story everyone keep on clashing!!
With the clan almost 1 year old, we have just hit clan level 9. And we look in fine shape it has to be said. The quality of members generally is as high as it has ever been, the attitude of the clan is also spot on.
It’s a far cry from the lower level days – If you are starting your own clan, it’s pretty psychologically defeating for most of the early stages, granted. But I assure you, persist, don’t compromise or deviate from the standards you set, and things will get better. They just will.
Level 8 war record:
Wars: 41
Won: 32
Lost: 8
Draw: 1
So, all round a decent record, but a below-average run for our usual high standards. A couple of things seem to have had an affect however. 2 of our max TH9s went TH10 and obviously had a few things to learn about the new styles of attacks. So I’m relatively content with this, as it seems to have been a transition period.
Especially since 9 wins and the draw were perfects, and we have rarely ended on less than 97% destruction, even during the losses. It still takes a fine clan to beat us.
Comings and goings
So, throughout clan level 8 we have had a few notable comings and goings.
The return of Poco Loco has been an incredible boost, and he hasn’t lost his touch in war in any way. The transition to TH10 seems to be complete! New members that have been reliable and have shown they can offer something include Dylan, Fergus, Frodo, Stone and Skye, amongst others that are coming through as we speak of course.
With arrivals, unfortunately come departures. One of our most respected and reliable Co-Leaders unfortunately decided that she was going to stop playing the game, this happens I guess, doesn’t make it any easier though.
So, if for any reason you are keeping up with the clan story that you used to like reading, and if you are checking up on me (which I imagine you are!) – Thanks Amy. You have improved the clan an immense amount and we definitely wouldn’t be where we are right now if it wasn’t for you and your input. Hopefully one day you’ll pick it back up and we will see you again (bro!).
The birth of a new clan!
So a mix of being frustrated at new guys who were useless/not attacking in war and one of our Co’s wanting to do something productive with his alternate account has led to the birth of a feeder clan!
It seems to have worked so far. Allows us to see what new lower guys are like in war before risking them in the main clan. It’s about 3 weeks old and already we have acquired 4 good members from there. It’s a great recruitment tool and all good progress.
Level 9 influx? Really?
Well, who would have thought that hitting clan level 9 would attract so many new member requests?! Strange one, I understand clan level 5 being a big step with the troop donation level upgrade. Maybe even level 8 with the 8 troop donation. And I imagined level 10 would be the next busy one (with the troop donation 2 levels upgrade)
But we have seen a weirdly large influx of requests, granted, some seem to be of low quality, but more are looking like good looking accounts than usual…
Passing the baton
The time has come. We have 7 Co-Leaders (aside from my mini) and I have decided to relinquish some of my leadership control. These Co-Leaders have definitely earned their status, but they are being rather wasted as essentially ‘very senior members’
So I have issued them with the option (and it is an option) of taking more of a leadership role, should they wish to. If just 1 or 2 take this up then it’s certainly going to improve the spread of responsibility.
But I’m a control-freak, this wasn’t an easy thing to do…
Summary
Our wars seem to be getting gradually larger. I think this is testament to both the increase in quality of the members we seem to acquire and the success of previous wars, it means when good players arrive, they know it’s going to be a successful endeavour.
Also, I have just had a good read of this thread to date, pretty much the first time I have read it through properly since it started a year ago. Really takes me back. A couple of things jumped out at me:
1. How far we’ve come. Not how far I have come, we. So many of the members in Vipers are integral to have successful we are and how much of a great atmosphere there seems to be.
2. The kind comments of so many. As the very first post said, I hoped that others could learn from my experiences and it seems that is happening. Also, people do just like to read about the experiences other have. Some good comments here guys, I didn’t do this for attention, and I am very appreciative by some, well most, of the posts. So thanks. Honestly, thanks.
Jimmy.
enjoyed ur story till now...keep updates coming whenever u r free.
Love you Jimmy xxx
Any updates Jimmy?
Thanks for the story. Very informative. I would never have the patience to grow my own but if everyone was like me, we wouldn't have any strong clans. Bravo.
hey jimmy . I loved you story . I really enjoyed the time in your clan . and I have learnt my mistakes from you and improved my mistakes . I just wanted to ask you what the name of your feeder clan I have to check it out how's it going and that if you are training over there I will come there with my new account and learn from you . please forgive me for the mistakes I did in you clan.
regard,
What a cracking story. I love to hear how other players get into starting a clan, seems difficult to me, but you have nailed it. I may just come by and check the clan out if you will have me.
Great work, you seem like a very sound leader.
woah jimmy, you're like in the same boat as me. I farmed a clan to level 10 and then gave up and helped other players to level up their clan. Starting clans is never easy. You must occasionally breathe some fresh air as being a clan leader is a terrible job.
Amy is back in the clan...so much fun;-)
Great clan, great atmosphere, great people.
Hay this is burlyman4570 leader of the rowdy renegades. Sounds a lot like my clan and I can relate. Ups and downs are part of coc. Sounds like your heart is in the right place. Respect and honor are hard to come by these days. We the renegades believe in both. Clan on my friend the renegades have your back!! rowdy Renegades out!
A really nice story which reflects everyone in clash of clans. A lot of memories brought back in mind after this story....from when I joined at th 3 the crossfire clan where we had a grate time with our leader dirk.who was my idol after helping me max out town hall by town hall donating and putting me in wars and making me such good player with his advice
Thank you very much Dirk I will always appreciate your help.
bagg123
loved the cat story Jimmy...just right.....glad to see you are still posting.....such a great story ..the history of your group...keep at it ..love some of the responses too..i have also met a great many helpful and encouraging players over the years ...nice to see so many that have a similar experience ..keep it going ...
On the way to level 10 soon! Next update is gonna be a big one
I enjoyed your clan, you made a tight nit environment. Thanks for letting me in for a jaunt! Great story.
So, the last update was at the turn of Level 9. It’s been a while, so this may be a long one…
Level 9 seems to have been a huge growth level. The last update mentioned a couple of our TH9s dipping their toes into TH10 territory, well now we have a fair few TH10s always occupying the top 4 or 5 in war. It’s become pretty standard.
Level 9 war record:
Wars: 49
Won: 38
Lost: 11
New war levels
I always expected that introducing many more TH10s would result in the war log suffering, but considering a lot of those 49 wars have included the learning curve of integrating TH10s - 38 wins is actually damn fine. Very happy with that.
New guys, Ego’s and NEVER letting the standards drop
We have a pretty simple, yet effective way of vetting new guys for war. If they want in, they need to build a war-style army and either do some friendlies against people at their level within the clan, or share replays of them using that army - so we can see what they have got.
We also try to ensure that new guys in war seem like decent people. And they need to read about our clan rules and strategy first anyway.
So there are a few hoops to jump through really. We like it that way.
So, it really does amaze me, when someone has gone through all of that, and seeing that we don’t really tolerate idiocy, when they get into war and think that’s a free pass to act like a tool! Like they think ‘Well, I’m in war now, you need me’
Oh how wrong they are.
We won’t be held to ransom by anyone. We’ll kick the top guy 3 minutes into prep day if we need to, and we will still win the war, such is the strength throughout the clan. But that isn’t the point.
Time and time again I have reiterated that we are just a decent bunch of people who enjoy playing the same game. I would quite happily kick 90% of the war setup and gladly take the loss on the chin as long as it maintained the moral atmosphere. Racism, sexism, any sort of toxic activity at all, you’re in the wrong place.
I don’t know why they bother, truly I don’t.
The hogmaster retires
Throughout 10 clan levels I have seen many members come and go. Some I helped out the door, some I tried to lock the door before they had chance to escape. But this one really got to me.
Picture the scene.
A fresh faced TH4 joins the clan, way back in the day. Willing to learn, seems like a nice guy, fails spectacularly on occasion, but always learns from it. Myself and another ‘original’ Co take him under our wing and try to teach him new attacks as he progresses. He takes a shine to hogs.
Fast forward a few clan levels - He’s now TH9, puts me to shame regularly with attack styles that I apparently taught him (the student certainly became the master), he’s one of the most respected, brutal, but fair Co’s I have ever seen. This is the kind of guy every leader loves to have.
But life happens. He begins to tell me he’s slowing down and, after a few weeks, the time came to stop altogether.
It’s no exaggeration to say this guy helped shape the clan into what it is today. These are the losses that can ruin the mood for a couple of days.
Later Wes.
The Vipers bar! Open late!
I love a good metaphor. Honestly, I can’t get enough.
One thing I have found is that when we kick someone for not being up to a standard we like here, they feel like they’ve been dealt an incredible injustice. How dare we maintain a level of member quality? How dare we not donate all the troops in the world to someone who can only say ‘plz bro’? How dare we refuse to accept your arrogance and ego just because you have a shiny league badge/fancy war stars. What a shambles we must be…
So, picture this:
Vipers bar (serving snakebites and the such, naturally). Shiny and new, just opened. Site capacity: 50 people.
Sure, we need the customers. We’ll take pretty much anyone in to start with just to fill the place, most new bars would. As the business grows, the bar becomes popular, but we can’t expand the site, more than 50 people want to get in, how do we do it fair?
Well, as a business owner, I’d love my bar to be filled with people who are as pleasant as possible. Ones who will echo my own standards of decency. So if I see someone fighting, they’re out. If I see someone doing anything they shouldn’t, they’re out too. Replaced by new people, let's see how they work out...
We’ll start charging for entry, means we will only get people here who WANT to be here. These people will make the atmosphere pretty cool.
Then we may introduce a dress code. Smarten the place up a little bit.
We’re getting real busy now, but look around, their is a high calibre of drinker here right now. This is nice.
It’s not an easy place to get into, but if you have the right dress code and personality, come on in, it’s great once you’re inside.
Oh, but occasionally someone will sneak in the back, unnoticed. They may start causing havoc, luckily the door-staff are on hand to get them right out, quickly. Sure, they might stand outside and hurl abuse at us for a bit. But we’re the ones inside, in the warm, enjoying a cheeky little green drink. You keep on shouting, if it makes you feel better. We’ve grown, I suggest you find a bar that suits you a little more.
So yeah. I make the rules, and I’m the only one who has to like them. We got picky. It just means we are doing something very right.
No riff-raff.
Fresh blood
So there are always new guys. New guys that make the cut are quite rare. New guys that make the cut AND impress are like gold dust. So a big welcome to a number of impressive fresh faces: Lance, Stalen, Elton, Chris, Gup, Jalepeno, Goober, Michelangelo, Mustonen, Xaise and Pat - All of which have joined over the last couple of months.
Great work guys, I have seen great things and envisage great things to come!
Old blood, refreshed
With progress. Comes more progress. Relatively fresh Co-Leaders include Fergus, Penguin and Chris.
Fergus - Stands for nothing regarding new guys and their nonsense. Brutal and unapologetically so. Getting past him seems to be a difficult task. I like his style…
Penguin - Until recently was the fastest promoted Co. Came in as a lower level and has been emphatic in her progress. Unrelenting, and will background check you before your entire Clash history before you even have chance to say hello!
Chris - has since become the quickest member promoted to Co. This is no easy task, has showed great ability and maintained standards of other members even before becoming Co. It was just a natural choice.
Add to that the return of Amy (which is an incredible boost! I knew she couldn't stay away from my magnetic charm too long...) and the consistent support of Shark, Warrior, Poco and Hicksy and the senior side of things is looking stronger than ever.
They all seem to be conducting things as I would. They are fierce, helpful and just a pleasure to have around the place.
This recently culminated in a long overdue break for yours truly, when these guys stepped up and maintained the standards I have drilled into the clan. In particular, Penguin took a couple of wars, with support from the others, and they all look to have done a damn fine job. Sweet work guys.
Now I just need to convince them that they all love taking and running wars, so that I can retire and just mass-goblin in multiplayer for fun…
With popularity comes negativity
Honestly, you work on producing a top clan, you enjoy the progress and you have a thread that becomes popular and people just want to hate you. I don’t understand it, what is actually wrong with people?
The amount of trolling I get, 1 or 2 on threads, but mostly cowards who will do it on PM, is unreal. It’s usually nothing to do with my threads or clan, and a lot of the time it’s nothing to do with Clash itself. It’s just hatred, jealousy, boredom? I have no idea.
But this can’t be a pleasant way to spend your time. Especially since, as a functioning adult who doesn’t bow down to internet warriors typing abuse on a screen, you’re just wasting everyone’s time. Go outside, meet some 3 dimensional people, enjoy the world. There’s more to it than dishing out abuse guy
THAT dirty word
Engineering.
There, I said it, it’s out there.
I try to maintain as flexible a view on engineering clans as possible. Whilst it’s just a different way to play the game I suppose (and certainly not anything I would ever welcome in my own clan), my word it’s annoying sometimes.
We run balanced bases, we have a couple of .5s at any given time, people who are making a conscious choice to upgrade some troops before getting Xbows/Infernos etc. But its a stepping stone to progressing your base. I don’t tolerate the lopsided bases, it feels… dirty. Just my preference.
And in honesty we beat engineered clans, VERY often. What they have in troops usually means that by default they lack in defence. We can work with that. And 99% of the matchups seem fairly even. In one way or another.
But.
When you have worked on putting together a decent win streak, you’ve won some tight wars, got that sweet feeling of victory and them BAM - the next matchup comes and their 15 and 16 (sitting amongst the TH8s) get 3 stars on your top 4 max TH10s.
All I’m saying is I get the frustration. Whilst we do beat them very often it’s incredibly defeating to have to just accept defeat once every now and then.
I don’t think there is much that can be done, and I’m not here demanding ‘changes or I’m quitting’ like many try to threaten Supercell with (♥♥♥♥ by the way, I’m sure they’re terrified).
But sure, I’d love to see something in the future that could match lopsided with lopsided and leave us balanced clans to face each other in lovely evenly-matched wars which are a test of skill instead of ‘TH11 pretending to be a TH7 spamming some max troops and sitting back to watch the stars roll in’.
Supercell's marketing is working wonders on me
This is probably the first time in a long time I have been genuinely looking forward to a new update. And I can't quite put my finger on why to be honest.
They are selling it to me as one of the biggest to date. So here are some things I would love to see personally:
· New single player maps.
· Reduced upgrade time - for assigning more than 1 builder to a building.
· Using heroes whilst upgrading in clan wars (popular one) - which isn’t unreasonable. I know they make a lot of money from this through people gemming them. But people will ALWAYS find something to spend gems on. Maybe make Heroes upgradeable (not sure that's a word) in the lab as a counter offer? The main thing to me is that what they lose in revenue initially they would genuinely make up in doing the players a huge favour. Come on guys, you only have a business because we, the customers, exist, and any business built on good customer relations is going to continue to be successful for a long time.
· Tournaments - Whether it’s ‘In-Clan’ challenges or a knockout clan war consisting of a few clans. I think this could be implemented nicely.
· A new rank - Between Elder and Co-Leader. I have Elders I rate higher than others, but giving them the keys to the entire clan by making them Co is a HUGE step up.
· Troop requests stay on chat - We are active and in busy times a request for top end troops can disappear in the time it takes for someone to get on to cook them. EG: Only TH10s can do bowlers. We have a number of TH10s, but they have lives, and when the chat only goes back about 30 minutes, requests can go unnoticed.
· War ‘surrender’ button. Sometimes we win a war and there’s 12 hours left. It’s just wasting everyone’s time.
· Optional shorter prep days - Like friendly wars, set your prep day length, only match someone with the same length selected.
· Member history - They can see our war history when they join, would be nice to see a little more about their recent war performances/recent donation+request numbers too. Not necessarily much, but literally anything will do.
But hey, maybe I’m just a dreamer.
Summary
Awesome work, level 10 feels like a sweet achievement. The current team is great and (this may be the Project Manager coming out in me) we seem nicely on course to what I always deemed to be the perfect balanced team of various Town Hall levels. We seem to be just a few members away from saying ‘Yeah, that will do just nicely’.
Told you it was a long one….
Jimmy.
WARNING: What follows is an opinion. I know, many will be reading this thinking ‘How dare he?!’ If that’s you, just close this page and move along, do yourself and me, a favour.
Self proclaimed forum police
Shhhhh, someone might hear you and then ABSOLUTELY LOSE THEIR MIND.
Last time I checked, forums are a place for opinions. Who appointed these ‘Forum police’ standard members who think it’s their obligation to trounce everyone’s opinion should it not follow their own mind set?
Guys, we have Moderators for a reason, let them handle that stuff.
My particular favourite is when someone posts a new thread on a subject and suddenly these people appear from nowhere within SECONDS:
‘’Excuse me, I think you’ll find there is already a thread related to this subject from 17 days ago at precisely 14:07pm’’
Oh wow, really? Are you seriously just sat there refreshing your page, waiting for someone you can condescend and belittle?
I know, it’s their fault for not checking through the 12,487,275 threads ever started to see if someone has mentioned this before…
I have an idea: If you see a thread relating to something you saw recently follow these simple steps (you might be a happier person for it):
1. Think ‘Urgh, another thread about xxxxx’
2. Don’t open the thread.
3. Move on with your life.
Disclaimer: This isn’t a retaliation. This has never happened to me, I know better than to anger the angry. I just feel sorry for the people who post a new thread, usually asking a clear question (which is probably why they started the thread on the first place questions in the middle of threads get ignored all the time), only to be shot down (without ever getting an answer I might add).
Bravo! Level 10
again a great post!...love the update ideas..especially the " surrender" its obvious so many times that the opponent is in an unwinnable war and it is a loooonnnggg slow clock then. Its been so long since i had anything on the single player map would love to see it expanded. keep up the posting its a great read and so true in my experience.
This is wayyyy to much typing for me
Lv 10, feels good glad to be apart of vipers... 👑
I absolutely love your story, I have spent 1 and a half hours on this post, and I can't think of anything better to be doing (except, of course, joining your clan :) ) Do you guys still have open spots? I will bookmark you guys soon, I am a starting to mid th8, love wars (I actually just 3*d a starting 9 with a hybrid), and will donate (if my troop levels are acceptable......). I would love to be a part of the family, it sounds like you guys are absolutely amazing!
Edit: Just looked you guys up on clashofstats.com, that is quite an impressive list, I must say, it is possibly better than the list in my clan! Edit to the edit: Now that I think about it, you guys are WAAAAAAYYYY better than my current clan!
2nd edit: I have thought it over a little bit, my clan's chat is completely inactive and there is no fun in it. Your clan sounds absolutely wonderful, I would love it if you would accept me. My CoC name is the exact same as my forum name, minus the YT at the end. Your story is very inspirational and a great model for other clans, keep up the amazing updates! <3 <3
Come on over JayTheGreat!
In a war right now...... expect the request around 3:30
Not sure when he is going to post...... I just wanna say.... You've done a nice job, Jim, and good luck for whatever you are dealing with...... <3 <3
Great story. My clan got it's start the exact same way. Except I forced my nephew into my clan and he got me some great members from global who are still with us today.
Thanks for sharing. RIP.
If you are ok with sharing, do you mind letting us know how he passed?
Nice captivating story. You've inspired me to be patient and persevere as i hunt for young clashers to join my clan B.LA.C.
R.I.P Jesse James.
Awesome story! Kept me reading all the way through. I usually just read on the forums, but this inspired me to make my first ever comment. A positive post amongst 100's of people moaning!
I checked your clan out as well, looks amazing. Great work Jimmy!
Ok, so I realize that I am probably not welcome in Vipers anymore, but I have noticed a ton of changes. Just a little while ago Stalen was leader? And now you are in gold league? I would just like an update on what the heck happened
Join blazing rage clan tag #YUGRVJY. Looking for strong new members
Gave it a read over again. Seems longer than it has actually been. Anyway, clan level 12 now. Vipers is still going.

The clan lost its members.
A clan update...
Drama happened between St. Jimmy, Stalen Borst, and Priestess Asura. No one really knows who tells the truth and who lies. St. Jimmy and Stalen Borst left. Bones was left in charge and the the whole clan except for one Co-Leader wanted Priestess Asura to be leader. Bones gave Shark leadership with the understanding he would give it to Priestess Asura. Shark decided to go against the wishes of nearly everyone in the clan and kept leader for himself. The rest of the clan disagreed with his decision and decided to go to another clan. Shark blames everyone else even though he is the one who caused everyone to leave. The Vipers currently only have 12 members and are dying. The Vipers are pretty much dead but all of the other members have gone to another clan which is 45 members strong.
Thanks to Jim flaking off and Shark becoming a dictator, the clan died. This whole story has become pointless and that is *probably* the last clan story update...
The end of a truly riveting saga. All Shark had to do was promote me and we'd all be happy as larry. Most moved to Dobbulla. Have a couple people out due to life events right now. Feel free to check em out
^^^^^ Absolute lol ^^^^^
Bitter much? Thank you, I love to start my day with a laugh.
Over 2 years spent building this clan. Shark became a trusted Co-Leader for probably more than a year and a half of that time. Frankly, if anyone deserves to inherit a level 12 clan to do with as they will, it’s probably him. And he has earned the right to do with it anything he sees fit. Best of luck to him.
But you believe you deserve that particular ‘freebie’. I’m certainly not shocked…. You were there, what, 3 or 4 months? Do me a favour. Probably argued with me for 90% of that time.
Stop spitting your dummy out, pick up your toys and go put the work in if you want your own clan, like everyone else.
PS: I take the fact that your new clan has copy/pasted WORD FOR WORD my clan war strategy as the highest compliment.
And I LOVE that you are using this popular thread as a platform to peddle your new clan! Haha.
This makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
------------------------------------------------
Note to anyone starting a clan of their own: There are MANY types of players who will join, but one of the absolute worst are the weirdly passive aggressive, ‘I know better’ ones.
They will make friends with everyone in the clan, make themselves well-liked and indispensable on the surface. But they will always believe they know best and will fight you on pretty much EVERYTHING, they want change, they want to make the clan their own, they want to ram everything down your throat, constantly – of course ALL in private, they wouldn’t ever display their particular brand of crazy for all to see….
If you get one of these. Get rid ASAP, no questions.
------------------------------------------------
So yes, this is the end. And at the end yes, I felt I had ‘done’ the whole leader thing and it was time to move on. It’s odd how hard it was to sever the tie however, this clan was mine from the start and it took a while to stop ‘just checking on it’. But it’s now done.
Life is way, way too short.
Some people really do just want to watch the world burn.
Despite the slightly tainted end, I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a clan leader. And now I get to be a member again, I can’t tell you how epic this feels. It’s like a massive load off. I get to enjoy just playing the game. Superb.
I’d like to thank the majority of the players who, at one time or another, contributed to what the clan achieved over its time. For the most part, they all played their fair role in many enjoyable moments.
My summary is this:
Running a clan is incredibly rewarding, but it does become more like a job than a game.
For a while, that was great. I loved putting the work in. I even enjoyed the challenges (and some of the incredibly challenging people….). But life is too short. Games are to be enjoyed.
But if you haven’t been through the whole process, from starting a clan with no instant team of players etc, then… You. Just. Don’t. Know.
My advice to anyone starting out:
- Set out from the start what your clan will be about, and stick to it.
- Don’t bend over backwards for anyone. People will come in and ‘know better’, but they don’t know, or get a say in the type of clan YOU want. They can start their own if they want.
- Don’t fear any enemy clan in war, go at them as if you know you can win, you’ll surprise yourself.
- Enemies with 77 win streaks mean nothing if you know your stuff ;)
- Don’t promote to easily, make them earn it. If they don’t want to earn it, they shouldn’t be there.
- The hate, ooooh the hate. Some people will want to hate, they love it, they will send you abuse on the forums, they’ll hijack your threads, they’ll stalk you online, everything. Just don’t rise to it (easier said than done, but 100% worth it).
90% of the time you will love it
5% of the time you will find yourself saying 'Why do I bother?'
4% of the time you will hate the whole thing with everything you can muster
1% of the time will be spent contemplating uninstalling the game
Just fight through the last 3, really, just do.
So, good luck to Shark, the new clan leader. Whether he wants to try to improve on the rather nice war record, make it into a farm clan, or just park his account there and never look at it again. Enjoy it Shark, you helped make it what it became. And for a period of around 12-18 months in the middle there, we were absolutely untouchable for how much fun we had.
And good luck to everyone who stopped by, hung around, dropped me a fist bump, or became part of the furniture there.
I started this clan, and this thread documenting it, for a reason, a very specific reason that a few of the long serving and original members know of. This reason was well and above and more important than 'gaming'. If you are still watching this thread, and you are one of these few who know....
It's all gone. Every last bit of it.
This is my last post on this thread. Cheers guys and girls, you all know who you are.
And to the ones who wanted to hate, of which there are always many, thank you too – you made for fun reading.
Cheers all, I’m done here.
Jimmy. Over and out.
How much time it taken to write?
Well haha .. depends on his typing speed
Reminds me when I used to hop all the time
Greetings from Shark
Man, I pop by the Vipers every now and then to see how they're going as I still have Shark as a friend. I was sadder than expected to see Vipers are no longer.
All the the best to everyone and thank you - my fondest memories of this game are with that core th8 crew.
Another chapter for the Vipers:
We are level 13 now, rebuilt, and going strong. Jim is back leading us, just like old times!
We have a small group of dedicated co's...
Stalen Borst
Bones (Myself)
Jalapeño
Caitlyn / Redemption
...and a strong group of 15 - 20 core war members.
As well as 20 or so new faces, some old ones have dropped back in as well. It’s great to have Mich, Elton, Hicksy, Wes, and the occasional Goober back in the family!
Currently sitting at 45 members, the Vipers community has re-grown and matured, creating a great clan atmosphere and feeling...I've got to say, after being in dobbulla for 7 months, it's great to be back!
I’m sure Jim will come back to the forum to talk to you when he can.
