Loved this story! Running a clan isnt easy..lol. On my 3rd year now and first clan in our family is up to lvl 10 our second clan is up to lvl 9. Both have active involved members who have a say in our clan policies. We do contests and have friendly competions sometimes. Both clans feel like family. I still read Saltins sticky on occasion to remind me of the basics of running a clan.
Keep this going its a great history of your clan and how to be succesful at it. Nicely done! Thanks for a great read
Sorry about my son. He's a mistake
Well, it took 10 pages, nearly a hundred responses and we almost made it to a year. But ladies and gentlemen, we have our first troll on the thread. How exciting.
I don’t normally respond to these things, but your well planned, thought provoking and articulate post has convinced me that this momentous occasion should definitely be marked in some way.
So, let’s give it the time and attention it deserves shall we? Let’s break it down and hopefully delve deeper into the psyche of the ‘filthy casual’ (superb reply by the way SharkKing17)
‘How very boring’
My sincere apologies. I wasn’t aware that, as a forum poster on a very niche website, I had such a responsibility to entertain the masses. I like to think of it as a thread that is relevant to people sharing the same interest. I don't go onto 'Rare Marine Life' message boards and tell people they are boring, because they don't interest me. But then maybe I just have a little courtesy about me.
However, I will of course take this under consideration. I shall endeavour to cover vital topical subjects in the future. Brexit, the United States presidency race, Fifa corruption etc.
I do have to contest this slightly though. I mean, it got your attention and generated a response from you. And isn’t that the very definition of something that isn’t boring? A reaction, however positive or negative, is still a reaction. As you were reading the thread, it was inciting something from you. If it was truly ‘boring’ to you, surely you’d have closed it upon this realisation.
‘This guy needs to get a life’
Honestly, your concern is very sweet. Thank you. However, I assure you I’m currently very content in my existence. I have many things I enjoy, I have a fantastic family and work life too – albeit by my own standards. And a cracking, extensive network of friends (though this is entirely subjective of course).
I mean, I don’t trawl through the forums of a game looking for posts I actively dislike to inflict negative comments on, giggling to myself that I have acquired some attention in a true ‘keyboard warrior’ style.
In fact I don’t give my time to anything that I don’t like. I kind of think that’s what having a fulfilled and well-adjusted outlook on life is all about.
‘It seems his life revolves around this game’
Quite the broad comment. I wonder, would you consider your life to revolve around something you do in your spare time for a small amount of time on a daily basis? If that’s the case then does your life revolve around being a bit of a tool?
Many psychological and sociological experiments from some of the greatest minds on the planet all agree that humans need some form of enjoyable down-time in order to remain balanced and, more importantly, sane.
#CoCforsanity - You saw it here first kids, when that movement takes off you can say ‘I was there when it happened, I was at ground zero’
‘Get out more pal!’
Oh I totally agree. Whilst I certainly get more than a very healthy amount of ‘outside time’, couldn’t we all do with more fresh air? Good for the lungs, good for the mind.
Unfortunately I am afflicted with a very constricting case of ‘being a redhead’. This makes the summer a nightmare for me. I burn just thinking about the sun. However, that doesn’t stop me, because a happy Jimmy is a healthy Jimmy. I do love a good stroll in the sunshine.
I remember this summer just gone, my fiancée and I were enjoying a nice walk through our village when we happened upon 2 cats staring at each other.
The first cat was quite disinterested to be honest, just going about his business.
The second cat? Oh he was prancing around, shifting left to right, jumping about, just so incredibly desperate to get a reaction out of the other one and validate himself and his crying need for attention. I wonder if his days were empty and void of affection. This wasn’t something the first cat seemed to judge him on at all, in fact it almost looked as if he felt sorry for the second cat.
Some cats just need a hug and to be told that they really are worth something. This could stop them acting like a special little snowflake in the future (or a bit of an idiot, depending on your view of the situation).
Anyway, in the end, the first cat pounced! It was as if he didn’t really see the need, but wanted to make the second cat feel better about himself. Oh you should have seen the second cat’s face. Instantly, he was filled with joy at all of that lovely attention. I think the first cat just wanted to do him a favour.
Who knows, this validation could have prevented the second cat from going off the rails and becoming the genuine incarnation of everything his peers viewed him as: An attention seeking, unloved, ‘please, please look at me’ poor excuse for a cat (I say ‘peers’, but that insinuates they were equal. I think we could all agree that isn’t the case).
I didn’t catch the name on the first cat’s tag, but I think he might have been called ‘Jimmy’
Wow, that took a week to come up with that?
You must be so proud.....
The great ginger one must still be writing his response............
His response is up there. You've said nothing else of interest since.
