Help me to suck less.

War is the best part of CoC but unfortunately I suck. I am a TH 9 and all my troops are maxed with the exception of my hero’s. No matter what I try, I can’t 3 star a maxed TH9 in CW. Sometimes I can 3 star a TH9 which does not have max defenses but I never defeated in CW a maxed base. I try to follow all the tips I get in video’s from Jake from Onehive, Powerbang, Ash, etc. I watch all their attacks and practice on a regular bases in war and on home bases. It gets to a point that it becomes frustrating. My clan mates want me to settle for a 2 star attack but I refuse that which often leads to one star. I wonder how it is possible that so many people seem to 3 star bases time and time again. I wonder what is wrong with my attacks since I try to use the exact same stratgies as anybody else. (golaloon and gohog).

Your clan wants you to go for two stars instead of helping you get 3 stars? Dude, leave your clan:p. Don't think you said what lvl your heroes were but higher lvl heroes help a ton for the openings of the attacks you are trying.

I am like you too. But, I 3-starred my last 2 attacks.
I am using the surgical hogs now, mostly.

I found that timing in spawning the troops is very important.
I realized that from those who are good at GoWiPe because it is really difficult to 3 star a base with a gowipe.

I am not going to leave my clan because I know most people in my clan personaly and we have a lot of fun also outside CoC. My AQ is lvl 16 and my BK is lvl 15. I am the person with the highest troops so it is expected that I go against the other top player which is often a player with a max defense, with the exception of walls and hero's.

Hey man, I understand your position. It is hard when people are looking to your to be the best and it doesn't work out for you. I found myself in a similar rut not too long ago. My best advice to you is to join a clan that can help you get better. I am not saying leave your friends and never come back. Just go out, join a serious war clan and learn as much as you can as quickly as you can. There are many details to be learned at TH9 from do I pull cc? to do i come in queen side? What is the diameter of Earthquake or jump spells... etc..

There is no way you're going to learn this information any faster than in a good clan. As well with a good clan, they will be able to provide you constructive feedback before/after attacking.

If it's totally out of the question for you to leave your clan that is understandable. I would then suggest you look to YouTube and stick to the most basic and proven 3 star methods. This includes: GoHo and PentaLoon

These two attack strategies are by far the easiest and strongest two attacks TH9 has available to them. They have standard army configurations and have a high level of success for me as well as new TH9's in my clan. Goodluck and you're always free to stop by my clan for advice or anything :)

I am in the same boat. I usually have had good luck with GOHO or more recently have been smoking bases with GOVAHO but every war I usually want to try at least one lavaloon variant. With those, I'm failing horribly. I watch the videos and it seems like a powerful attack that can transfer to TH10 but I get smoked every time. I've tried max attack, golaloon, and penta and usually get 0 to 1 stars. Heroes are 24/20 AQ/BK, so I figured they are high enough to at least get me a 3 star on mid levels. Frustrating but I've accepted the fact that I just can't do air right now and will only do it if we are getting blown out and xbows are both set to ground at this point.

Air is a tricky thing to pick up. You really have to change your mindset and put your 'air hat' on. Transferring from ground to air the most important thing is loon placement. In a goho you want about 4-5 hogs per defense so they can group up and become powerful as a unit. As for loons they are a different breed entirely. You really need to time them perfectly and that is the main point here. If you want your timing to be right, drop your loons in groups of 2-3 per defense (maybe more if there is bulk teslas in core), but typically 2 per defense is standard if the lavas have tanked the traps. From here it is about one of two things (cycling or walling). In a cycle you want to work the attack like a clock - around in a circle. In a walling strategy you want them to brute force two sides of the base and then continue through the entire base like a wall. Both of these strategies work the same in terms of 2 loons per defense, its just about spell placement and WHICH loons you drop first... on that middle wizard tower or those outer archer towers? It takes time and practice, but loon placement is KEY. Goodluck

Golaloon,gohog and goholaloon are the best stratergies to thrash a maxed th9 base..the important thing is you need to select a perfect attack for the base you are going to attack.. I am an mid th9 base with lvl10 aq and lvl11bk but i usually 3 star maxed th9 by using these stratergies in war...

Feels like I'm rushing all the time. I have dropped the hounds first and then drop 2 loons per defense clockwise. Maybe dropping them first and then hounds may help. I tend to be a bit late with spells as it takes me too long to drop all loons and hounds get beat on too long.

Another thing to note is don't drop all your loons off the bat. Hit the defenses that are shielded by the hounds with 2 loons each and then rage up, and then use your remaining loons (if you bring 20 maybe around 6 should be left) :) But this isn't a cut and paste formula... you will need to have a good plan before you go in. If this is a war attack you should know where every loon you have should be dropped and exactly when and where your rages should go. You have time to plan so plan
