The Higher Leagues Without The Snipe

One thing I've noticed in the higher leagues is a high amount of unskilled attacks with bad army compositions as well as good compositions but horrible placement. I can only attribute these to the update. These must have been the Pure Snipers that are trying to stay in Masters and above but haven't learned HOW to attack or the elements that make up a good army comp. As an example, I was attacked by one army containing 20 wizards and at least 2 pekkas and one golem twice. Neither time did the attacker get over 35% and each time they used all their spells trying to keep their pekkas and wizards alive long enough. Then there was the 5 pekka attack with 13 wizards and 3 heals that netted 31%. In most of these cases they were trying to get to my dark and only once succeeded. Other times there were gunning for the storages and failed to get two.

The list goes on and on. I'm sure others are seeing this comedy as well. What are some crazy compositions you all have seen used against you? Share some screen shots too if you like.

Multiple Golem, mass hogs, archers and barbs only...beginning to see it all. Including very expensive armies with no hope of recouping the cost ( even with a bonus)... I place that on bad cost/benefit strategies from wars.

I tend to agree with your hypothesis on why there appear to be so many "bad" attacks. Add to that the new matchup algorithm. I haven't had an " easy" base in awhile. Everything is a tough one...and I'm loving it!

I'm personally very fond of troll or open base layouts and have been running them for lolz for awhile now. After the update I made what I hoped would be a 'one star special' since I was in the middle of pushing up to champs and it has wildly exceeded my expectations.

The gist of it is a simple 'moat' design with a 2-space gap between th/de/xbows and the rest, and the outer two rings have strategic gaps to get the tanks wandering back and forth. I figured every once in awhile people would underestimate it and I'd get a few one-stars.

In reality I get almost always one-starred and quite a few 90% one-stars which are particularly hilarious. SO many full on war attacks end up just taking the grand tour and then petering out before they get to the core. GoHog, GoWipe, GoLaLoon, all of it flails. It's almost to the point I want to try the base in war!

The only people who are getting my TH and DE storage are the ones who are very patient with their heroes and save the queen for the last phase of the attack. My clan has been very entertained by my replays.

And on a side note, I've been in love with goblins lately and am mystified why they aren't being used against me more often, they are the best troop now that everyone is going for storages!
