Giant attacked own troop and ended battle?

So I was raiding on my new smurf account and this happened. The giants stopped attacking the mortar and started attacking my own archers. Is this a new thing after the update or is this a bug? Was just wondering. Replay: https://youtu.be/erYkOscjfPs

They're defense giants that came out of his CC ..

Those were not YOUR giants, but giants that were donated to the person you attacked.
They came out of their clan castle.

Yeah just saw that for myself, lol. Can't really discern the green and brown due to colour blindness and didn't see a clantag. I'm an idiot xD.
