Now that we can take two poison spells to entirely kill a dragon in the CC, what is more effective for Penta at TH9?
1. 2x Poison spells. No need to use your heroes for CC kill.
or
2. 2x Haste spells. Will need to lure CC and kill the AQ.
Additionally, if you did not have access to haste, would option 1 still be viable for most pentalavaloon attacks?

If you use this strategy often, by now you should have realized that the speed the balloons get to each defense is key to how successful this attack is. If you replay your 1 or 2 star PentaLavaLoon attacks, you'll observe that it was due to your balloons moving slowly and not destroying particular air defenses in time (and hence wiped out your LavaPups).
Poison or Haste, theoretically it does not matter. But given no haste spell, 2x poison is still a viable option. If you want to pursue the poison strategy, you must drop your heroes AFTER a majority of defenses have been taken out, and you see the opportunity for a faster cleanup (or to snipe the town-hall/AQ if the pups/balloons didn't get them).
A third option is to use 4x Lightning and 2x Earthquake to take out 2 Air Defences. If you want to use this strategy, however, you should substitute 1 or 2 LavaHounds for minions (since there will be hardly any defenses to pop your LavaLoons into pups).
As soon as I got to th9, I used goho to three star but once I unlocked my lava, then it was all pentalavaloon attacks in war and I got 6 stars always. First of all, this strategy works best with symmetrical base with most defenses inside. Speaking of spells, heroes won't affect the attack that much, so use them to enemy cc troops and bring 4 rage and 2 haste, normally rage because they occupy larger area plus more damage.
With how much penta has been nerfed, I'd like to see how level 1 hounds "always" got three stars lolQuote:
