Quick zapquake question.

Th9 here with a level one and a level 2 quake, and 4 lvl 6 lightning spells. My war opponent stacked up 2 air defences right next to his queen and the other two next to his king and left a hound in the cc.

My question is, should i use the quake first, and then drop the lightning spells, or use the lightning spells and then drop the quake? From how i understand the quake i would think taking out 25% in the first hit would be ideal but then again i havn't done an attack like this ever. (lvl7 air defence)

I dont need to take all the air defences down, but i hope that i can kill 2 air defences with 1 quake and 2-3 lightning spells and then quake the other 2 and, hopefully severely weaken them or even knock them out. They are very close to eachother, only 3 tiles. I know i can kill the queen and 2 air defences for sure, i just want to maximize my spells here.

I went ahead and attacked it anyway. I ended up missing the queen on the lightning spells and she ended up stopping the attack around 90%, but much was learned.

I needed to deploy more balloons towards the bottom and less at the top. I left an AD and an xbow up as my balloons didnt have enough to punch into the core from the bottom. Also, getting that queen down would have helped tremendously. Had these two things gone better i think it would have been a 3 star, but being my first lavaloon attack i think it went ok.

Im really starting to think an investment in an iPad would pay dividends. Its very difficult to gauge whats happening on a small iPhone screen and even when i use GoHo attacks its been very hard to keep track of all the moving parts.

I ended up using all 4 spells on 2 air defences as well. I used the quake first and the second quake i used on the other pair of air defenses. I used my lavahound to tank for my balloons and overall the idea and plan was sound, just the execution was off. Better luck next time i suppose.

Hint: You'll find max attack laloon (using all your spells with the kill squad) to be far more effective than zapquake laloon.

Im still learning the workings of laloon but a kill squad wasn't necessary as he had a hound in his cc and, due to proximity i could take down the queen and 2 air defences with my spells. It was a good trade off as i used 4 hounds and 24 loons, but like i said my deployment and execution was off. Had i killed the queen traditionally i would have needed to also lure and kill the hound, which wasn't a big problem, but i would lose alot of camp space.

I ended up with 89%, and in my opinion anytime an attack (other than gowipe) reaches 85-99% the composition was good enough for the 3 star and it was execution that was not good enough. Of coarse exceptions exist, but for the most part in my experience thats been the case.

If the the queen had gone down to the lightning spells and had i deployed 3-4 more balloons on the bottom it would have been a different story. But its a good thing to learn and try new things, and alas here i am.

The first quake always deals x amount of TOTAL hp to any building. You can drop lighting or quake first. Doesn't matter.

The issue is still that you have zero spells for attacking the entire base minus two buildings. Was your composition good enough? Probably, but that doesn't change my opinion that a good max attack is generally stronger than a double zapquake unless you can actually hit the queen with it AND there's a hound in the CC.

Yes and i completely agree with you on that. It was really the perfect base for a zapquake lavaloon and i would never use the zapquake unless it was a base i could get 2 ad's and the queen with it.

I have much practice to go. I tried lavaloon because we had a substantial lead and im getting worried about getting stuck in a hog rut where i try to figure out how to hog every base instead of trying air attacks. I have been using loonian for farming just to get a better handle on how loons will path in a base, and used to it.

I usually build my army custom to the base im attacking, and this was no different. The more air attacks i use the better i will read them in the future and i cant wait to try out a max attack when the opportunity arises. Funny thing is my friend is at the same level and stage of progression, and makes laloon and golaloon attacks look easy, but he couldn't hog a base to save his life.
