I used the word "mitigate" not "prevent" DE loss. Rather than simply give up, which is ones choice choosing and/or building a DE centric base may provide a win/loss ratio one can live with. I am not suggesting, implying or even stating that a TH8 can defend against an executed attack by a TH9 - but attacking skill, troop composition are also factors. One has to try, versus simply putting you DE in a corner and saying "here it is" - thats all I am saying my friend(s).

After all TH8 face other TH8 and TH7 - TH9's are not their only problem.

As a TH9 who runs loonion, there is nothing you can do to stop me from getting your loot. TH8s, if you've defended against a 9, it's because their troops weren't upgraded or they're incompetent. I don't care if you have wizards/dragons in your CC, 42 loons+20 minions+3 heals/1 rage is getting your loot, usually without using the minions or omre than two heals.

I lost count of how many TH8s with storages overflowing from sniping in masters 1/2 I cleaned out for 1800+ DE and 900 bonus. I only used my queen, 4 healers, ~10-20 minion, 4 wall breakers and maybe a poison and rage. The cook time was 15m so it was quite efficient. I'm a th10 now so I will miss those loot pinatas.
