You can never protect all your resources, a th9 would run over you base no matter how you set it up...

I'd recommend making at least one of your resources "easier" to hit than the others you care about. Since youre a th8, I'd assume you don't need elixer. Set those storages further out and bring gold storages in and under more defensive protection. This will let weaker bases take the "easy" bait. Just make sure you set up layout so that you still get a shield!
