Is Hay Day Dying

Well, I have been play hay day for 7 months and stopped playing a three months ago, I started redecorating my this week, but I'm about to quit again. I'm trying to figure out why I liked this game to begin with, it's actually extremely boring. So yes hay day is dead to me, I won't try any other supercell games, so supercell is dead to me too

Yes, it's dying. Derby kind of killed it.

The Derby won't kill the game any more than town or the fishing area did. The Derby is only part of the game.

Exactly. Also, I found if anything the derby is helping my playing style.

There are less new players for sure and a part of that is the amnt of land they need to expand.

if i was a new player and i found out the amnt of land I'll need to work on expanding i will definitely not play hayday

when i joined 2.5 years ago the land was decent and with the time came more land but to me it seemed less

now everytime i see a farm that has triple the size of its 'in use' land to expand i feel so bad for them


There me were also less machines and things to aim for and there was no derby

its 100 times harder to start off as a new player nowadays . Very discouraging

you don't *have to* expand all the land though. Also, these things come naturally as you level up and I wonder if people really worry about that.

There are many different types of farmers, forum visitors, derby players (and more, of course) in Hay Day. I reply to make it more meaningful to the people whom I'm quoting, like right now.

It will, but not to the extent of other subforums (Clash of Clans, early December and Boom Beach, March 2015).

Still breathing. But given that there hasn't been much new content since the Derby was introduced I agree it is suffering from lack of attention.
The Seasonal Events now are really just copies of normal events.

If I was just starting Hay Day I wouldn't worry about it dying any time soon.
It might even hang on for some time as Hay Derby. I don't know.

But given that there are games that are competing in the same genre with even more content, creativity, long term playability, Achievements and ever changing Events I don't see Hay Day surviving much longer than another year or two.

Perhaps SC has a plan and are okay with Hay Day slowly dying while they are getting ready to unveil something fresh, new and fun. Goodness knows the company has the people with the skill and the vision to stay in mobile games for a long time to come.

I play another game which has features that seem to be as interesting as what Hay Day offers.

The farmers who have more land than what they use might be using the land that way because they don't want to let the land become filled up with dead trees or bushes. They might be doing that to reserve space for more machines.

I don't think that it's 100 times, but rather just about 2-3 times harder for the new players to start. If it were 100 times harder, then the new players coming in would decrease enough for SC's income to decrease in some way (my thoughts only). "Starting off as a new player" refers to only the lower levels (for me, I define it as levels 1-30). After level 30, players would know more about what they can do with strategies. So, it's not discouraging for new players, but not encouraging either (because of what I am about to say directly below).

I don't believe that Hay Day is dying, but I believe that it is somehow leaning towards the dead side. Here is why Hay Day is not dying for me:

• I can think about what orders to satisfy, and orders to replace so that I can satisfy my current needs (coins, experience, achievements, derby, etc.)
• I can think about what derby tasks to choose and to have replaced
• I can interact with the newspaper and visit farms to get their helps done
• I can place ads in the newspaper to get help by other people

The only real reasons that Hay Day isn't going to exist for a very long time are that events are repetitive and that lower level players that have to get a lot of coins within a relatively short period will be at a disadvantage, and may even leave the game because of that.


Here are 2 other reasons why Hay Day is dying:

• I don't have much interaction between closely related farms (neighbors)
• There is limited choice of town visitors to pick up

These are just my preferences, and I can resolve these later on.

A part of the game that SC has focused on for a year which is why the game has become stagnant.

Of course they have focussed on it. It's a new feature and one that has required quite some tweaking in order to get it as good as they are going to get it. I think that's fair and to be expected. I don't think they will always remain focussed on derby, because at some point it will have its place like all the other parts of the game. They just had to solve a bunch of issues and tweak it over the past few months.
