i get ur point but most new members just want to get their idea out and dont want to hunt and dig to see if anyone that is playing clash of clans happened to have the same thought. not saying its right but thats how it goes. try to be patient with them and just direct to the sticky or bar

To me though, the reason why the older members have been a bit harsh towards the newer ones is because sometimes the newer members post an idea that has already been posted about without putting any thought into it. Example of this would be like just writing "we need a co leader" or "ban clan hoppers for x minutes" in your post. It's really not a matter of reading a sticky or using a search bar, it's amount of thought and time a person put into an idea. If someone new posted an idea that has been repeated over and over again but put a lot of thought and effort into showing how it could be implemented into the game, they wouldn't be shouted at. Of course this is all my personal opinion.


To sum this up, older members are meaner to the new ones because they are irritated by the lack of effort and explanation into an idea.

Yep, myself and the other mods and staff are getting quite disenchanted with some of the behavior.

I've sent quite a few PMs to members asking them to stop with the rude posts - we have mods to direct users. I've even given some temporary bans.

You don't need to spam "Read the sticky" in any form - it's spam to increase your post count.

I will be on a spree this weekend to crack down on this yet again it seems.

If you have nothing nice to say, or nothing constructive to add to the post/idea, don't say anything at all.

To the general point, though, the ideas forum is usually a very bad place to make your first thread. Honestly, even General is a more welcoming place (unless you post in the wrong subforum). Maybe at the top of the ideas sticky there could be a big bolded passage about the search function and maybe move the ruled out ideas to the top? Or possibly do something similar to what they just did to off topic? Just brainstorming a little.

I agreed because he said the sticky is to long, he knew it was there he knew it was important but he ignored it.Most players just don't notice.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with kindly suggesting that they read the sticky or look at it. But there are some members who are complete jerks about it. Not wanting to single anyone out, but Boltfare is someone I see doing it a lot.

There are actually a lot of adults who join this forum who may not understand exactly how everything works in here and they don't need anyone putting the "fear" of anything into them. They need other members to respectfully explain. Then everyone can learn and enjoy this community. Which is how it should be.

I don't think poster has a problem with those who say hi welcome to the forums and please read the sticky, I think the problem is with those who continue to be mean to newer members, now seeing that this thread has had a while and I wasn't on the forums during that time, I don't know how bad it was but I guess it would be better than before but, I still think there is a problem currently, honestly I think the moderators should do something about this more if they haven't already, It ain't new members fault if they didn't know what they were doing, do you remember when you a new member, its been a while for some but I still remember and I did actually read the stickies before my posts and ruled out ideas, but many don't do that and shouldn't scream at them for not knowing how the forums work.

I agree with you that some people should be nicer(like SuperMarc:rolleyes:) but(this is not an excuse) sometimes it really makes you scream that people just don't listen to you. Example: dahimi's sticky, he/she wrote in big letters at the top“ PLEASE DON'T POST YOUR IDEAS HERE!" And there were like 15 posts saying“ hey I think ther should be..."
