While I understand your frustration at this, realize that the CC is one of the most powerful defenses in the game. It doesn't need a buff.
> realize that the CC is one of the most powerful defenses in the game
I guess that you haven't tried it yet. If you can lure the CC (usually true, always true below TH9), then two sequentially applied poison spells kill all troops, even the last useful CC troop, the level 5 dragon*. The CC is no longer an effective defense at all.
Having the troops return only buffs the CC against a lure and slowly destroy attack. For a committed attack with an active battle with the CC troops, this change would make no effect.
*I haven't tried this against a lava hound. I still think a lavahound CC defense is best ignored.
Have people not yet realized that they can destroy any troops with two sequential poison spells in 15 seconds?
Use a golem/lavahound. Simple as that. Also, when a troop is destroyed, its destroyed so why should it come back huh?
If a troop is destroyed it is destroyed. There is no talk of returning dead troops.
If a troop is lured out of the CC by a single Hog, that hog dies, poison is dropped but no more troops are placed, the troops should wander back into the CC, not stand around stupidly in the poison. This would, in practice, mean that to poison CC troops you have to keep placing lures.
At the moment, there is no need to lure to the edge of the map, Just lure out of the CC, and poison them where they stand. Possibly lure out from one side, then another, to get them all out while keeping them still bunched. Poison level 1 version 1 already destroyed tier 1 troops and minions as useful CC troops. Accelerating damage on troops remaining in the poison destroyed the usefulness of wizards balloon and witches. Now that spell donation means that by default everyone has two poison spells, with accelerating damage, all defense troops that stand still stupidly in the poison cloud die in less time than the added battle time. The CC as a defense is very nearly completely nerfed, it is just a week or so until everyone works this out.
"Use a golem/lavahound" is not much of a solution. That is very limited solution, and these are not very tricky CC defenders.
You already get your troops back. In war. Why not that? And another simple fix would to be to "request" when you need it. Also for the golem/lavahound not being tricky defenders, would you have a dead dragon that really did nothing but made the attack spend a couple of troops and 2 spell slots to destroy it or actually having a clan castle set-up that actually does damage to troops.
The CC is one of the most powerful defences in the game but with recent updates all it is is just a time killer, It is very underpowerd and I 100% agree on the idea of CC troops being smart* and gouing back in the CC when there is no troop to attack. btw no clasher ever puts a golem into their CC and only in war is a Lava Hound useful (kinda recent updates have even made that weak) with all these updates breaking the game i'm surprised that there hasn't been a mass death that kills off hundreds of thousands of clashers.
Me and some of my friends put a golem in the clan castle just for defence in match-making against barch or gibarch.
Lavahound requests for defence is going down due to new base layouts and stronger attacking. Better than having something instead nearly nothing right?
We played with golems in CCs. They do little damage and attract attackers to themselves, advantaging the attacker.
the point is not that CC defense is completely worthless, but that it has been severely nerfed. A little defender AI is needed.
