Lv3 witch th11 balancing
Dear forums (and Supercell if you ever come to read this),
I'm posting to share an idea I had the other day to balance the new lv3 witches at th11.
Firstly I would like to clarify that this is not another rant about the update, because except for simplifying 3 stars at th8-9 a little too much for my taste I personally am enjoying the update; since it dropped I am finding 30+ trophy offers in Masters II every three or so searches and this has really simplified my push to champs as a th8.
However it seems to me that the new witches combined with the warden too easily overrun max th11 villages for 2 and even 3 stars. This is to be expected as with every update comes balance, and it is impossible to predict something to be OP in an mass multiplayer game when testing it on a private server attacking developer villages.
I hear a lot of youtubers predicting a witch nerf but I don't think this is the best solution to the problem. They are a good clan castle option for lower THs when pushing, simplyfing for example the plight of a th8 going up to 2 star fully max th9s; and good balancer for the removal of th snipes (as this means being 3-starred when taking most defences and the inability to gain trophies against higher THs by this means).
I think that a good balancer at th11 would be for the grand warden to deal splash damage on defense (say maybe the damage of a lv7 wiz tower), but over an area of effect of 2.5-3 tiles, so as to hit the witches and her skeletons with one attack. This can also help give a greater purpose to the new hero on defense, who as of now is really just another point defense and not a real factor in an attack. While just a support hero it feels strange that something surrounded by such a hype when it dropped is not even considered when planning out an attack. This solution would do nothing to stop th10s form being 3-starred by the witches, but then, it is consistent with every th level that it should be easy for any attacker to 3 star a lower th (I.E. "Th bullying") and this could provide further incentive for th10s to upgrade to th11.
Please comment and/or reply to this thread if you have any thoughts, positive or negative, and hopefully this will reach Supercell ears before we have another "nerf".
