Attacked through shield?

Hello,

It seems like I was attacked through shield and maybe shield never activated, here's the timeline:

My last attack: 7h 24m ago
1st defense : 7h 7m ago (2 starred with 62% destruction)
2nd defense : 6h 49m ago (3 starred with 100% destruction)

My current shield time 9h 6min

So basically after my last attack I logged off for few hours and when I came back, I saw that I was attacked twice, and I thought how could this be? Did the 2nd attacker attack through the shield or was the shield never applied after 1st attack?
