TH11 Update. Senior player opinion?

I've been on forums for a good time & 2 years in game. Here is my thoughts about update:

- Townhall 11 is a great addition with all what came along. It seems the GW did balance the offence against defense :thumbsup:
- Spell donation is also a great addition which although small but still greatly affected my attacks by using 4 quakes,2 jumps, 1 rage & 1 freeze with about 75% 3 star success rate. I love it :thumbsup:
- I don't have any problem with making PBT 3 hours :thumbsup:
- The problems is with how PBT to reset it. It should be as simple as before wait 6 minutes & you get your reset :thumbsdown:
- Removing snipes is a bad move. Forcing everyone to defend is moving people from win-win to lose-lose situation. This is the worst part of update imo :thumbsdown:
- Forcing players to play in certain leagues "suitable" for them is bad :thumbsdown:
- Removing diversity from the game is bad :thumbsdown:
- Ignoring most requested features & implementing not just things which have never been asked for rather than most are against these changes. :thumbsdown:
- Where are clan war tournaments? Heroes in war while upgrading? Oh & did we forget about quests? :thumbsdown:

So I can fairly give this update 3/10 based on above & the long time we have been waiting for the "game-changing" update. I have to admit that this is a game-changing update but to the worse imo

I have played this game from the first summer it came out and was a maxed TH10. In a clan with 200+ war wins. Warred around the clock.

I have since found it impossible to make any kind of significant loot gain when raiding 3-4 times a day with a full army. I get an ok amount of gold and elixir has not changed much. I think im up 1.5 mill elixir in 3 days when ive been purposefully hitting for elixir.

I was looking forward to playing this game and buying gems during a long road trip this month but honestly cant see how itll even be playable for more than 10 mins every few hours.


Bottom line: I dont have time to play this game when SC wants me to. I have time to play when I want to.

I see a lot of people running around the forums saying "The shield was cheap, play as SC envisioned it, it works for me so its a good update."

I imagine these people really dont have much life experience. Something is not good because it works for YOU or because someone tells you its the right way, something is good when a MAJORITY of people find it favorable and find enjoyment out of something.


I think the community as a whole is in for a rocky road.

my post wasn't meant only to those with 2000+ posts but I did want to welcome players that have been playing this game for over 18-24 months. Sorry if I introduced it wrong. But the replies so far are what I was looking for. From my experience on those forums, when the majority of players all say the same thing, SC listens usually. They can admit their mistakes and try to fix it. We're just 4 days into this update so they still have time. But everybody must push in the same direction. TH snipe haven't been broken for 3 years, it was part of the game. A part that 90% of the players used and liked. If SC is ready to lose 90% of its player pool, well they are on the right track.

Also thought about giving different rulesets regarding shields/league bonuses based on the league (was thinking more about ~masters being the "boundry"), but included outside link in my post and "it waits for mods aproval" for the past 2 days. -_- Anyway, I agree completely, trying to merge various playstyles into one, while ignoring the fact that there are casual/hardcore, farming/warring/pushing players already in the game is naive and stupid. Let people decide how they want to play the game.

I have been playing for 3 years. My major problems are in my signature.

I love to see article that has a nice balance of pros/cons and critique/suggestion, and the OP did it well. For me:

Top to fix: PBT calculation and reset mechanism, higher loot league and war reward, TH10 rebalance (e.g., make it more possible to 3 star another TH10)

Top to add: Clan war tournament, quests, heroes availability for clan wars

Up for debate: shield system. I appreciate the point of not hiding behind shield but the current implementation is harming casual players. Lots of good suggestions here and probably more if SC opens it up for discussion.

What the OP said sums it up nicely. The good bits are good but the bad bits are catastrophic.

As one th11 to another, or several that have posted here. Are you even bothering to try and farm anymore? In master 1 all I see is max 10s and 11s which require basically a war army and full spells to get 2 stars and most storages.

First few days I thought, hey, this ain't too bad. Spent €50 on update day and I gemmed th, farmed for eagle and Gw up to 5 just gemming time.

Loot has now come to a complete stand still and while I have still been attacking, I have gained 900k elixir over the past 2 days. Gold is fine at around 7m net in 2 days but apart from walls it's pretty useless atm. Farming elixir is now a serious bottleneck and absolutely the single most important resource at th11 for GW. I can't even save up 6m for lab.

I hope it's not just me, is it? Playing the game 3 years and I've never ever had trouble farming at any th level.

Like most of you, I snipped a few outside TH Thursday and Friday. Somebody from our clan advertise a -89 trophies night ... even if we sent multiple messages to everybody to change their base.

3) 30% is a great change from 40%. 40% is really hard on though base. It's hard for me to leave a fight at 26-28% so that the next attacker could have an easier raid.

4) Removing that automatic shield from TH snipe is a big mistake. Unless you attack more than 4 times a day, there is no way you can make up what you will lose in defs while saving for a big upgrade. Most of the casual players from our clan (1-2 attacks per day) will just quit in a few weeks. After 3 years of play. Not because it is harder. Because it is impossible except if you have the time to attack 4-8 times a day. I made a test. I kept 4M of each and 120k DE in the best farm base I can make (all defs maxed). And I was losing between 90k-240k each def. When I dumped all in my walls and stayed around 2M of each and 40k DE, I'm not even attacked. If SC want only hard core players that play 18 hours per day, they will see immediately that less and less players will be attacking. Because it's not even worth an attack sometime.

5) reducing the break from 6h to 3 hours isn't bad. SC even thought of cutting in half the boost time. It fits my play style anyway because after a 2 hour boost, I really need to do something else in my life.

6) that village guard, new calculation for personal break is just ♥♥♥♥. In 3 years I NEVER saw the message for personal break. Now I see it every day ... WHEN I WAKE UP IN THE MORNING. I put my ipad in my drawer at the office after lunch and check my message before leaving 4 hours later ... I CAN"T HAVE BEEN PLAYING TOO LONG I WAS WORKING!!! What? nobody figured out that somebody won't be attacked for a full day? Nobody thought that we can go for a full week without getting a shield if we are low enough? I would be sorry if I was Supercell to have released such a BUG in an app that was so popular before. I watched the video from the developer talking about the TH snipe and village guard feature. Guess what, I'm a programmer, and if something is so complicated that the developpers need to explain themselves how it works, well IT SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED.

So, the silent elders from the forum. Am I wrong about some or all of this. Who here love this update? Like everybody I loved seeing those 400-600k of each offers at the beginning. But after 4 days, I must conclude that most when been wipped now. Now I find the usual base, with 60-90k because most players are putting all their loot into their walls. I'm at master 1 and I could between 4-6 people each day dropping their queen to drop into lower leagues.

I suggest, SC, that you make some changes. Because soon you will be losing more players than you will gain.

Perfect. I'm a 2 1/2 year player. Th10 level127. I've already deleted the app. I will be watching to see if they change it back. Only then will I return. It was a fun game. Key word WAS FUN

First off Clash of Clans developers and or staff you put this forum in place for people to make suggestions, complaints and comments why are you not answering player's concerns or questions you are making people very frustrated.
Now about me I am a 52 yr old 2 plus year player that was really into farming and weekly war. I've spent plenty of money on gems as working full time doesn't allow me as much game time as I would like so when you make good money spend money. But I won't spend money on failures and I think thats where this game is heading.
Farmers don't want to spend 400k plus to cook troops and gain 60k loot and a reduced win bonus. Also the match making only one level below my own TH except for champion league, killed farming and guess what I don't have the time to get to champion league.
In hopes I don't repeat what I'm sure many others are posting I'll stop but before I go I ask you please respond to your customers comments, and yes game players are your customers not just complainers to be ignored.
