Attachment 1342Beat this!
Well, I once raided a guy and got 15 trophies.
When i was farming(when 0 troopies was possible) i attacked a guy and i got 58 THROOPIES!!,!,!,!,!,!,!!,!,!,!,!,!,,!,!,!,!,!,M,!, !,,,"
I think he's referring to the loot...
Of course he was. Pretty good to, dont know if Ive beaten that.
350K + gold isn't all that unusual and elixir is almost irrelevant when farming.
They aren't going to get very far, very fast using a lot of giants and wall breakers, even then they would generally pick up more than enough elixir without trying.
My pumps are outside of the defenses and regularly full and I have noticed that quite often from others.
Nevertheless, people do it pretty often.
I always do it when im boosting troops, guaranteed win and the training time is next to nothing so I cant really see a downside with it. Whats the point of maxing your elixir all the time?
Keeping the pumps and mines outside is not always that smart, you can generally get more from them then the storages if the person your attacking havent emptied them for a while.
it worked this one time. I bet you most times it doesn't. Especially if you're th lvl 8/9 attacking other th lvl8/9 above 1300 trophies. Why do i find it laughable that he's using 149 barbs and just 19 goblins when farming? Barbarians attack anything and their A.I is terrible, at least with goblins you know they will go for the resources first, which is the whole point of farming. Their damadge against resource buildings isn't even comparable, . Barbarian spam wont hold up against good bases.
I didn't see anything mentioned by the OP regarding farming, he simply wrote "beat this" and included a screenshot of his winnings. Everyone has their own way to get loot, efficient or not, I don't see where you guys are going with this.
Like PumpJacka said we have no idea that he was even farming. And besides, an all gobs attack can go terrible wrong too depending how you deploy them. There is no troops that are better then others, they are just good at different things and this obviously worked for him at least once and Im pretty sure he wouldnt keep using it if he loosed most of the times.
Besides, we have no idea of what trophyrange this is and what TH-lvl it was so I have no idea why you even brought it up.
Do you use pekkas and ragespells when attacking TH 5 on 600 trophys? I think not.
I completely disagree with you, Lonewolf.
First off, and most importantly, congrats to OP... this thread seems a bit tough for no particular reason. From my perspective, use whatever troops you like as long as it works for you!
For the OP in particular, note that his barbs are level 5 while his WB and gobs are level 4. That, in itself, is a good reason to go heavy on barbs until he maxes gobs and WBs.
Second, I have seen some odd pics of so-called successful farming on these forums... or what people define it for themselves. And many, many people use way too many WBs in the WB/gob combo. 10 level gobs is 30k elix. Obviously 20 gobs is 60k. You've seen the pics, a lot of elix blown by raiders who have not maxed all their troops & spells. Mine are maxed, so I don't need elix anymore, but I still like to be as efficient as possible just for the intellectual challenge of a clean raid.
While barbs do not hit as hard as gobs at max level, they can bust down walls a little better as they don't get 1-shot so easily with their higher health. People define farming differently. It's not clear the OP is really saying he is farming. I see him going heavy on the troop he has maxed, which is perfectly reasonable to me, and not a reason to get criticized. Frankly, I don't see why folks get so criticized on these forums so much (well, unless they are whiners of course!).
Illustris the Reasonable
I attacked a guy who had over 400 k
i would of gotten all of it but I forgot to build wall breakers :(
only got 170 k
Sorry, may i ask... Where is the tactics/strategies/questions from this thread? I think this thread is only created to make peoples jealous. Congrats though.
I use giant but the best troop to loot with I would say is the goblins,THEY ARE BOSS😄
It is smart if my elixir storage is almost always completely full without even targeting elixir when I raid. I pick up more than I need without even trying. There is no 'point' to it, it just happens. As for mines, I protect them as I need gold. I concentrate my defences around the structures I value the most, as anyone should.
The downside to boosting troops is that you are spending gems. I thought that would be pretty obvious. Using slow giants with poor damage is daft. Giants are pretty much just tanks to attract defenses while the useful troops do their thing. You will see the downside when you attack decent bases, your giants will be torn to shreds. Spending gems so you can spam giants is hilarious.
Not bigger, but bigger where it counts. Not mine, though. From a friend.

Sorry, I got the wrong end of the stick. I sometimes use up to 6 giants if the base is particularly well defended and they have plenty of gold.
There seems to have been an upsurge in people sending in loads of giants and little else. I have been attacked by 30+ giants lately and they regularly fail miserably.
Still 8-9 giants and lesser troops will only set you back about 40K elixir, as I am resource hunting I will generally pick that up in a raid without trying, and will often pick up more.
Impressive mediapluck. First 500K+ gold I have seen.
Easy?
I take it you have more screenshots then.
This is a good screenshot showing you can still farm at higher levels. The raider here has 6 mill capacity in each gold and elixir and is high enough level to raid or farm level 83 targets with black walls. Good job.
Rather than going for trophs, here the player clearly is going for resources (ergo 163 gobs in his setup and a loss of 24 trophs). At the higher troph lands, there are usually more troph hunters than resource hunters, as we all know, but I appreciate this screenshot quelling the whining folks about how you can only farm at 0 troph with 1 gob, etc, etc. Which has been nerfed. Whoas me, whoas me, sob, sob... etc, etc, sigh.
Illustris, My Hats Off to You
No this is a screenshot that shows that someone who is a higher level raided someone else. We have no clue what the base of the defender looks like or if the attacker has a TH8 or TH9. Semantics are important here. Also these loots are remarkable because they are rare.
Why would this quell the whining folks when this screenshot represents something completely different from the complaints?
Hmmm, I'm going to have to disagree with your disagreement of my disagreement...
1. The question of semantics of "raid" vs. "farm" is at issue here, so I disagree with your first sentence, ergo the entire reason for my post... showing, that yes, you can still farm at higher troph level
2. The base level of defender or attacker is irrelevant. A TH6 can farm a weak TH9, or a TH4 to a TH2, etc. What's the relevance of that point to you? Again to me, farming is an intentional dropping of trophs to focus on resource looting (wherein you do not need to farm with just 1 gob at 0 troph, etc)
3. The complaints seem to stem basically from the the matchmaking nerf that hindered the sub-100 troph farming. For some reason, the whining logic goes... since that farming has been nerfed, no other farming is possible. It is true there was good farming there, but it is not the only way or troph level to farm. This screenshot is of someone who raided a level 83 target (notice there are black walls on the target, so either TH8 or TH9, but I would say, again, irrelevant) with a heavy gob usage with a loss of trophs.
There is a fine line between "looting" vs. "farming". We have someone who either looted or farmed a level 83 target, with a 160+ gobs, knowing he would lose trophs. There is a whole spectrum of farming opportunities, up and down, the troph spectrum. Whether the person intentionally dropped trophs or not, may be the swing factor between the definitions.
Last, it is not true that these resources are so rare, either. Yes, there is an over-farming going on at the 1k-2k, but even there 500k-700k total loot raids are not that rare. But, at the higher levels, where many players are maxed out, you will see full tanks with uncollected resources, particularly given the long regen of spells. The irony, of course, is to be there, you have to be a troph chaser as well and not need resources (besides elix for high level attacks).
