Improve Valkyries

Maybe it is just me but I am dissapointed that Valkyries did not got a boost in last update. Especially since minions and witches, both strong units on their current level, did got a boost.

Now how to boost valkyries without making them overpowered. I think lowering the army cost can easily make them overpowered, making it cheaper just wont cut it. I think her AI needs a change.

I have been playing around with different strats to see if can make them work. So far it seems only with an haste spell they get close to where they need to be. This let me to think that the movement is the bottleneck in her true potential. This is a result of her moving to the best sweetspot for her swing attack.

Now I know in the past her AI has been improved to move to the sweetspot and not keep attacking from 1 side. Which is a good thing but I think she needs more change.

Changing her so she would attack as soon as something is in range and move between the attacks to the sweetspot.

I know this will increase the time before the valkyries are on the sweetspot I do think this will improve their overall performance.

Really? I personally think a minor housing space reduction is what is needed...

Bring the housing space down to 6 or 7 and it'll be great,
on th9 that is. on TH10 i cant really judge as i mostly only attack rushed th10's or fresh ones.

however on TH9 level 4 cuts it, i do however think a level 5 for th10/11 would be nice.

I agree.

Three valkryies are not nearly worth a golem; or five hogs; or five giants; or six wizards. Reminds me of chess piece counting. Reduce the housing space, down to as low as even 5, on par with giants and hogs. 5, 6 or 7, I'm not sure, but 8 is too high.

Though I do agree with housing space I do not agree with as low as 5, Lets compare the stats of Giants and Valks form a th9 point of view

lvl 4 valk - 1,200 HP - DPS - 124
lvl 6 Giant - 940 HP - DPS - 50

We can clearly see Valks have more hp and dps so having them at 5 space just does not seem logical to me.

Having them down to 5 would make taking giants almost useless aside from them focusing defenses first. I do think 7 might be a good number because that means you can get 4 out of 30 troop space which is better than the 3 you get now. I feel like if it is 6 troop space that even 5 out of 30 troop space might be to good.

7 is a very difficult number to work with, I think having a housing space of 6 is good enough.

Dunno... As it is the giants have about 25% more hp but the valks about 50% more dps per housing space...

Giants and Hogs targeting of defences is a big deal, not to be scoffed at.


Reducing valkyrie housing space 25% from 8 to 6, might go with reducing HP 25%, keeping constant their HP per housing space, but they should keep their DPS.

House spacing to 6 and make her to spin once she has a building on range without stopping her walking, of course she needs an adjust on their hp/dps if the house spacing is getting reducted.

I wanted to introduce and discuss the stutter-step attack option for valkyries. Now I'm also OK with letting her move along without stopping. I think these changes would make her useful on their own, if not already overpowered.

And jet only the last response gives any comment on the idea.

I did not, nor want to discuss her housing space. There are enough other threads doing that. So if we can please stay to the stutter-step idea and not hijack this thread to discuss her housing space again, it would be appreciated. Thank you for understanding.
