Just reply to this message and say "bring back farming". If we get thousands of replies I can guarantee SC will listen and make modifications.

Dude, the update is good for farming, all those rich th 8s and 9s just sitting there exposed. The only think that needs to be fixed is the pbt
Bring back the snipe !! I haven't had a shield since the update happened. And stop giving me that stupid Personal Time Out after only playing for 45 Minutes. I have played this game long enough to know when I can stop or not. This is the worst update I have ever seen. This has already lost us a war when two of our top members had a time out before they could complete their war attacks.
The freeze spell for th9 was nice, farming is terrible now despite what all the high ranking bloggers are saying on here. Of course it's better for th 10-11 raiding destroy a th9's th get 10k de and a ton of loot. Farmers is what made this game and being able to play it numerous ways, now it's a big spenders game like GOW bring back th sniping or lose many players. I have noticed only the high ranking forum members are happy with the update, that speaks volumes.

Check up on some of the CoC YouTube people. I know Galadon is making a new village post update so he can see how this thing runs for new players.
Also, there is a reason why high ranked forum memebrs think it is great (or at least better than before), most of us had time to see more of the big picture after beating our, back then, newbie heads into eachother's on topics we thought we knew something about, but really didn't (most of us still don't know as much as we think we do, but don't tell them that, it makes them mad). The update is an attempt to fix issues that are very complex; and I'm honestly surprised, and happy, (and also a bit worried) that SC even tried! I'm also impressed by how they did it too, because, at least 'on paper', seems like it has a good chance at fixing things I've complained about a year ago. Note: I'm not one for giving flattery. Before the update news, I listed this game as a 3 out of 5 stars in Google Play with blut criticism that barely fit inside the text box. The only good thing I had in it was that SC actually seemed like a smart development team, but the game was of average gameplay quality, due to past mistakes that kept haunting SC.
So yes, the higher ranked people like it because we've... uh.. 'grown up' since we started posting here, and picked up many details along the way. And no, we aren't getting paid off to say positive stuff about Supercell (if we are, where is my share!), nor is the update cartered just to high Town Hall level players (if so, I haven't seen evidence, and would be depressing to find out).
Farming isn't dead. Town hall sniping, and so-called 'farming bases', are however dead; but raiding easy bases, either rushed, abandoned, or poorly designed, is still very much possible. Don't confuse the two. I was farming on this game way before I finally broke down and put my TH outside of my walls. Took more than 9 months to for me to give in, but I resisted using a farming base up until I stopped playing seriously at the end of TH8, and backed off my activity for awhile until a good update came around (which such an update finally did come around).
So, I don't know what some of you guys are complaining about. If the terms we are using are the same, as in what is meant by 'farming', then it seems like a premature or pointless rant from my point of view, because now there are more bases to pick from (and be picked on, besides me) and more access to people I can take loot from.
... But now I need a new strategy, since the Super Queen method turned unviable. :p Even with 4-6 Healers (under the high diminishing returns point) vs TH8 bases, the effectiveness has been reduced enough to not quite be worth it. Just as well, it likely ticked people off anyway, but got good WB practice and funneling out of it. Back to Barcher I suppose... (really need to find something better...)
If I'm honest, I like the change to farming. It seems unnatural for the Townhall to be on the outside. Townhall gets targeted, next thing you know Villagers and Builders run to a building under attack. #Logic.
It's more natural if the villagers and builders run to a building that's protected and it allows for people to spread their loot more evenly across a base. It also allows people to not be constantly behind a shield, allowing for a wider array of bases to search for, therefore less waiting time when pressing next, the quicker you can search through bases, and the quicker it should take to find a base with lots of loot.
Let's say for example, you lose 200k of each and 1k of Dark Elixir when defending. This didn't use to happen before, when you most likely would have been sniped instead.
Big Deal! I can make up that 200k + 1k DE easily in 1 raid, and next thing you know all that loot lost has been made up again, easy.

Sorry mate but from what I've seen and the feed back I'm getting from my clan members, coc is far from a desolate place full of despair.
I think the up date has shook alot of players, and those that are keen will adapt.
Farming carnt die while a base exists with collectors and mines within easy reach of an archer or barb.
BRING FARMING BACK. I don't mind that town hall 11 or anything but the fact that you messed with the Sheila's and farming system is the worst thing you've done. Sometimes I get attacked up to 10 times in a day and some! Bull sh*t man bring farming back
EYE think some are NOT SEEing the "New" way to farm. Farming is alive and well. Just as with every other update we adapt. SC SEEms to have created another way to keep CoC interesting instead of allowing CoC players to get bored. Suggesting CoC players are leaving because of the update is kind of funny. EYE don't think any players are leaving because CoC may have changed a little. SEE ya ,-)
Bring back food chain!
I want a food ladder to climb. Farming your own size makes newly upgraded TH hell. Strength of previous TH, game wasting your gold keep telling you to farm current TH. It's like telling a wolf to hunt a lion. No fun to upgrade TH if this not change.
With food chain, upgrading TH is fun. Make you want to be bigger predator and ultimately the apex.
Other than food chain gone, farming is fine for me. I like the new changes. TH9 lvl 103 now, troops already quite strong when update hit, with 1 hour troop set I can easily get 300-400k gold per raid, 1500 de profit. Went from gold 2 to master 3 coz the game keep giving me th9 to attack so i have to attack strongly and trophy went high and higher.
No interest to upgrade to th10 with current system, as soon as i finish that upgrade, the game will give me mostly th10 to farm, wasting my gold on search. How do I suppose to get resources to upgrade my offense and defense that way? I would be a th10 with zero upgrade and the game tells me to farm th10 with upgrades. They are bigger than me ffs. It ain't farming yo, and as newly upgraded th10 i would need all resource for upgrades, gold elix de. Strategically not feasible at all.

I stopped the game temporarily ( Because of exams , not update ), but if SC doesn't bring farming soon , people will be angry ..... and leave .... the game's changed sooooo much !!!!

I have nothing against the shield part. However, I'm in gold which is a pretty common league for the th8s to be in. When the update first came out it was ok-ish, not too much difference, but now thats its been out for a while... You know the best base that I even have a chance against? A th8, with 1k of each resource and barely 1-star-able. Like wth, its not only the farming part now, its the whole game. Ya right, of course I can find 300k of each resource, ... against a maxed th9😒. I can barely even play without gems anymore. Cus i will lose like 100k of resources to a maxed th10 or something... This game is nearly un-playable for me now. I'm considering jus merely using my collectors to level up, since i maxed them out before the update, was pretty lucky to have done so.

Someone has probably already said this but have you seen the Heros in War Petition? Been over a year, a ridiculous amount of replies and views, EVEN A RESPONSE FROM SC, and nothing has been done. Petitions it seems, don't work.

The key word there is th 5. The loot meta at th 5 and the loot meta at th 8+ is so drastically different that it's like comparing a 5 year old saying he wants a bigger allowance to buy a stuffed animal to a 35 yr old with a full time job. Huge difference.Quote:

The bad habit is there, the baseline for what players expect are locked in, so better prep for addiction symptoms of irritation and rage as the player's world becomes a lot harder. Easy win abandoned bases are just addictive. Who wouldn't want to pick off bases with the vast majority of the loot outside the protection of most of the defenses? I knew it was bad, I knew I really needed to look into base breaking armies, but... never got around to do it.
Like most, I'd hit the Next button until the slot machine matchmaking system granted me a jackpot. With the flood of stronger, active, bases, those easy wins are being drowned out. People think SC is purposefully removing inactive bases, but that makes no sense when you take Occam's Razor to it. The simplest answer is that the list of attackable bases got a flood of previously hidden bases from TH Sniping, not because SC is purposefully making some code to remove even more resources from the system, because SC thinks it is a good idea. They have more important things to do than worry about if abandoned bases, fitting whatever arbitrary criteria, are in the game to be attacked or not.
The best fix to the "farming" issue is to show people how to attack, all over again. We can't farm like we have been: besides, it eventually was not too fun, and just became a grind. In the process of checking viable methods for player to try and practice on, SC could tweak things to make more methods viable. Beating up a village one Town Hall level lower than the attacker needs to stay as an option, but not be too harsh for people on the receiving end; attacking the same Town Hall level base needs to be more viable, and attacking back on someone that is one Town Hall level higher needs to be less insane than it currently sounds.
The reason why TH7 was so fun for me, and why TH8 was the worst period ever playing CoC, was that at TH7 you could attack in a ±1 level Town Hall range. At TH8, you get the worse of both worlds as you can't hit a TH9 as a TH8 like you could hit a TH8 while a TH7. On top of that, you have your usual targets, TH7s, being able to hit you back substantially until past mid development. But mostly, As a TH8, defenses always seemed lacking, and that Archer Queen always seemed overpowered.
I'm not sure how TH9 is balance-wise, being I've been passively making most of my loot as I wait for improvements, let alone know how TH10 or TH11, but I'm sure the balance is very much off there too. I heard TH9 was balanced rather well where it was at, before the update, but now that is even up in the air.
Would it be so bad to have it where, if attacking with a good amount of effort, hitting a base one Town Hall level lower than you would often be a 3 star, hitting the same level would often be a 2 star, and hitting one level higher be a 1 star? At least then there would be some consistency people could feel comfortable with. I mean 'often' as in the most common outcome, if bases are at equal stages of development at their respective TH level; not 'will always be the case'. There will be people getting one star in a base lower than them, and some getting three stars on a base higher than them, but the average would be close to what was stated.
... ugh, had more to say than I thought.
Honestly, I think the update has made this better.
