Just because you can't hide behind free shields anymore (myself included!) doesnt mean farming is dead.

If if you've read my posts pre update, I was strongly against the update. After the Jonas interview, slightly softened. After the update, things are a million percent better. Yeah the PBT needs a bit of tweaking, but raiding is far better.

Yeah I've had one shield since the update, but when I'm not getting attacked, what do I need a shield for!?

This is clash of clans! A war game and a strategy game! Make sure your base gives up 30% whilst protecting the maximum amount of loot possible, then you won't be hit multiple times to get your shield.

It's not rocket science, it's Clash of Clans!!!

Let me know your loot per hour unboosted post update. I used to average 1.8 million but the amazing heavy armies and "significantly" increased bonus and no snipes to boost the loot per hour while armies train has brought it down to 800k ish per hour.

Did they kill farming? No. Do I care about free shields? No had it trapped most of the time cause people failed regardless.

Did they remove the skill gap between good strategic players who spent hours analysing each league noting down the stats and your average run of the mill GiWi / GoWi 5 spell on th9 bases troop spammer? Yes. They killed the diversity and stages / pace at which the game could be played. Farming can't be killed.

At last a motivational thread (to the quitters)

Pretty stupid thread.
Show your screenshots of your attacks + defences.
PRE AND POST update.

You'll see what most of the farmers are talking about.

Oh did I mention, even if you aren't a sniper/farmer.. you are/were benefiting from the loot they accumulated.
Give it a few weeks and you'll notice the effects in your available targets.

if you think farming is not dead NOW and you can get and keep the same loot as before, it means you never knew how to farm efficiently to begin with.

I'm afraid I can't give you an hourly average just now because I've not been doing sessions - bar an hour boost yesterday which gave some healthy earnings.

But today, between dotting about and doing standard weekend stuff, I've managed 10 attacks. 4.8m in those ten attacks and 25k dark. So 480k average raid plus another 270k and 740 dark in league bonus on top. Safe to say far in excess to what I could consistently farm in gold.

Im an 800k target for anybody that fancies a go.

The problem is Loot per Hour. Sure you're seeing more villages with 350,000+ but the problem is you need almost a War army to get it which takes MORE time and MORE resources and if you fail you just wasted A LOT. I could farm on average 3,000,000 Gold AND Elixir PER HOUR with my Boosted Barch raids and there is simply no way you can come anywhere close to that with what you need to do raids now. My style of play was quick cheap units to perform as many raids as I could in a 2 hour session, not waiting hours for units and spells and doing 4 raids a day. They have killed a major segment of the players play style which is why there is such backlash.

I have a level 136, 90 and 84 all TH 9 accounts and I have quit the lower two for now and if this is now truly "The game we always wanted" then I will give up my last account because the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥Cell always wanted isn't the game that made ♥♥♥♥♥♥Cell rich.

I'm using a hybrid queen walk, Gigobarch. No dark troops. No big ticket troops.

But why can't you still barch? This is what I don't get. Is it because there are more players now dropped low to try and get those targets to?

Unless I'm missing something, nothing's happened to dead bases either.

The only argument I'm seeing for farming being dead is the inability to now hide behind a free shield. But if you design a decent base, you should hopefully stop them getting to the majority of your storages, and to get to a storage or three, they have to take down a solid chunk of your base thus giving you a shield. People need to accept they are going to lose loot 1/2/3 times a day.

Ive accepted I'm going to get looted. But only been raided twice... Once giving me a shield. Total lost loot - 150k from 1.6m (800k available each raid).

I agree with OP. Farming is still very viable. I couldnt say if it's any faster or slower now in general. It has felt like I've been progressing at my usual pace but I'm not too bothered to record stats or anything.

Actually farming is dead. I personally dont think i can play the game like this anymore. First of all let me say i never barched but still i benefited alot from dead or inactive bases to cover a large portion of my elixir and gold raidings. With the new update firstly matchmaking is horrible. I've been mostly paired with other near max TH9s, who have either no loot (cos' they now dump everything into walls) or very well-protected loots with at least half lego walls that I need to jump through!

If I decide to raid any TH9s, my troops and spells cost atleast 160k elixir, meaning I am on negative in Elixir in exchange for some gold and/or DE. The biggest reason the farming is dead is that now if u are offline for 5days you are considered a dead base and removed from the attack queue. So no longer you can find bases wjth full collectors (which was huge part of farming.)

The update was a complete failure to the players. There were too many changes and very little research. People are quitting left and right after investing 2 years or better in the game.
