Here is my 3-star strategy for TH8 vs. TH8, regardless of base design and cc troops once you have determined Gowipe is the best attack method. There is a lot of misinformation being spread about this attack strategy as being only a 2-star method, but after much frustration and learning more and more about the game's A.I., I have this attack strategy down pat and wanted to share with you all. I have both a maxed TH8 and a fresh TH8 and have been successful consistently with both. Here are the key features....
1. PATIENCE. I cannot stress this enough. The common mistake is to deploy a bunch of wizards immediately after golems, and then pekkas and BK soon follow. This is NOT how to do it. It is CRITICAL you deploy wizards as minimally as possible. I typically deploy one to two wizards at a time as the attack progresses throughout the entire duration of the attack, and not deploying my last wizard until around 1:30 timeframe. The success of this attack hinges on the wizards only, nothing else.
2. Destroy CC Troops Using No-Lure Method. I watched an extremly informative youtube video outlining how to do this, especially with dragons in CC, and I have had perfect success since. The key here is to make sure outside buildings are destroyed so your wizards can move into the dragon (typically) as quicky as possible. Drop a rage over your wizards and watch the defensive units go bye bye. I will try to share the link to the video later as there were good attack examples displaying exactly what I mean.
3. Use Pekkas as Meat Shields. Most videos and opinions I've read online suggest all the pekkas should be deployed up the gut. This is a mistake. Your pekkas are quality meat shields and should be used as such. When you send them all up the gut, they implode with all the surrounding defenses firing at them all at once. Instead, deploy ONE up the gut, then the other two on each side of the base. Place one or two wizards behind each one on the outside. When they are spread out like this, the defenses wont have time to kill anything before being destroyed by the nearby wizards. Plus you are spread out so the defense isnt so concentrated to one area, limiting the defensive ability of the base design.
Here is the troop composition to use:
2 Golems
6 Wall Breakers
13 Wizards
3 Pekkas
1 Poison
1 Heal
2 Rage
Wizards and haste or poison in CC
Alternatively, If you have a clan with lv4 pekkas and above...I recommend this troop comp (my clan didn't have high level pekkas until recently):
2 Golems
7 Wall Breakers
19 Wizards
2 Pekkas
1 Poison
1 Heal
2 Rage
Lv4 Pekka and haste or poison in CC
Here is the attack timeline outline:
Clear outside buildings with a few wizards if they are really far outside preventing the wizards from immediate access to the CC trigger area AND if the wiz are not accessible by any defenses. If base is tightly built, skip this step. Spread Golems out along side nearest to CC trigger area, ensure they attack different spots of the base, with 6 wizards spread out. When CC troops head their way, drop two to three wizards as closely as possible to the defensive cc troops' target golem amd the poison to slow them down. When wizards start to aim, drop rage over golem and wizards. Immediately deploy all wall breakers in this area so they can utilize rage as well. Now is a good time to drop heal over this Golem and the adjacent troops. Now deploy one Pekka (CC Pekka if applicable) and your Barb King to go up the gut. Finally deploy one pekka on the left side and then one on the right side of the base with two wizards behind each Pekka. Wait to make sure Pekkas distract perimeter defenses and deploy one wizard at a time as needed if they die from traps or if they go in a weird direction. Use your last spell when BK and Pekka make it to the base's center.
One more thing.....PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! If it doesn't work, see what went wrong on the replay, and fix it next try. Good luck. Let me know if you have any questions.
