Legitimate ideas to return casual gameplay
Let me start this by saying I don't have a problem defending once in a while. 2-4 times per day is fine in my book. My problem is that it will be exceedingly difficult to save DE for big ticket hero upgrades or even higher level research at TH9. You do get hit...hard...if you are anywhere near the loot cap for DE now. Casual folks who only raid a couple times a day will now find it very hard to get something like level 2 witches. I will list some proposed changes. I am hoping for serious discussion. I like the new system as a whole but feel it has ruined the game for several clan members, so hopefully one or two of these ideas will be taken up by Supercell.
1. Have a "free" attack per day or per shield that does nothing to your shield. Can still charge the usual nexting cost, just don't deduct shield. Just one. After that, start deducting the shield.
2. Extend the village guard for lower trophy levels. Honestly, 15 minutes is nearly pointless. If you aren't in a clan that has someone online 24/7, you are guaranteed to get smashed if you didn't get a good shield after getting hit once. Bump it up to an hour to line up with a 5 gem boost.
3. Reduced cost of collector boosting. Perhaps tie this to whichever resource was stolen. If you got hit for 80% of the loot cap for that resource, make the gem boost for that resource half off or a flat rate 5 gems or whatever. Shorten the length of this boost if you want to make it work.
4. Longer shield for getting hit hard. My least favorite idea but probably easiest to implement.
Hopefully the community here can think of other items. Just trying to keep a few guys who I've been mates with from quitting.
3 Simple fixes without enabling TH snipes to fix the game
I'll tell you exactly how to fix this game in 3 simple updates.
Update #1: Remove PBT and implement the 6 hour rule as previous. The coding exists and should be super simple to put back in.
Update #2: Base your league bonus on the % of your troops costs and the % done to the base your attacking. If you want to promote higher game play, then REWARD the players to use the more expensive troops.
Examples of #2:
Silver: 40% refunded
Gold: 60% refunded
Crystal: 80% refunded
Masters: 90% refunded
Champs: 100% refunded
Titan+: 110% refunded
You know what this means? If you use an army that costs 500k elixir and 7k Dark Elixir, and you 100% someone while in champs league, you will profit the amount you "traded" stole from another player. The cost of the attack was FREE to you, while you only transfered the loot between players. Now if I attacked someone and only got 60%, I would only get 60% of those troops back. At least its not a kick in the mouth and complete loss. This will promote trophy pushing, while promoting war style attacks.
Update #3: Reduce training times, simply just takes too long to do, game gets very boring when you have to sit and wait 2 hours for your troops to train.
