small tip for farmers to raise chances of free shield

Hey everyone I have a small tip for farmers, it's been very useful for me and I hope it can help others.

I'm TH8 currently elixir farming, trying to max out barracks and expensive upgrades (ie. dragon, pekka) first. In doing so, I keep my gold storages at the minimum level possible and have been using it whenever I have it, on walls.
Anyways, when I got my third gold storage, I never upgraded it past lvl 3. It holds 50k. So, along with putting my town hall in the corner, I put that gold storage and all my builders huts as bait. I try to make it look juicy as possible. The lvl 3 vault barely holds anything but it gets full at 50k, so its good for gettin those noobies chasing their first 1250.
Now, my defenses are very weak because I've been going all army, but ever since I added the gold storage and huts, the percentage of higher lvl players raiding me has gone down significantly, allowing me to amass millions very quickly :))))

It's still a gamble though, and I hope you know what you're sacrificing.

When people look at a village they want to raid for loot, the first question is:
"is the loot in the collectors or in the storages?"

Since lvl 10/11 storages most always look empty, its hard to tell if the loot is in there.
But if there's a low level storage that is filled to the brim, its a give away that there's loot in the storages. By opposite, if even the low level storage is empty, it means all the loot is in the collectors.
Either way, you're taking away a chance for the attacker to mess up and waste troops.

An isolated town hall will get attacked just for trophies before somebody takes a serious look at an attack for loot. You don't need to give up gold to sweeten the deal. In fact, I think the builder's huts are actually doing you a better job- by showing your attackers that there aren't teslas hidden directly next to your TH. Upgrade the storages, you won't regret it.

Your storages will always look empty, and as a result you'll get less attacks.

I agree with ur logic there, but I'm already a prime target cuz I have weak defense buildings, compared to other TH8s, which is immediately apparent without any scouting. The reason I go overboard is the off chances of a random person seeing the gold mine, huts, and TH in one spot, out of range, you could take all of it with 1 unit.. I really don't care how much gold I lose at the moment because I'm maxing out my army in order to raid higher level bases when I really go for gold. Once Im through elixir farming, ill upgrade the storages. I do care about my DE an elixir though, which is why I'd rather sacrifice 20k of gold for a free shield. it's not an end all be all strat, but it's working out for me. the proportion of Resource Raids vs TH kills has gone down noticeably, so just thought I'd share. Feel free to voice ur opinions
