5.1.1 is supported, just not older, looks like they goofed.
Same on my end. Ipad 1, IOS 5.1.1. The game starts, the progress bar proceeds till 100% ... then the game crashes
I'm in the same boat. iPad 1 first generation iOS 5.1.1, the update applied but not the game goes through the loading screen then dies and goes back to the main menu.

I have a first gen iPad. I can get in the game just fine. Just deleted the game and reinstalled it.
Tried already prior posting to reinstall the game, rebooting the device, ... All known workarounds. Still the same issue that the game crashes after loading the content (progress bar).
Tried factory reset and delete and reinstall game. Still doesn't work for me either. I'm sad my villagers miss me.
deleted game and removed game data....reloaded...same issue. Seems like a few other device people are complaining too....
it appears in a supercell sticky that 5.1 should be supported. I hope they fix this fix. Its not right to penalize us older devices from loot. (and my town hall is still out :( )
Same problem guyz super cell pls listen to us
I try reset the ipad and instal coc and the game start.
but when i put my backup for my village coc crash again when the bar fill up.
please fix it
Same here, iOS 5.1.1, says still supported but bar loads then returns to home screen! Seems there are still a lot on old devices with same issue, and in any case, never ever right, hopefully it is a glitch that can be sorted, BUT notice should be given if you are going to stop supporting a device. My wife only allows me a small amount of pocket money.
Do you know if anyone with IOS 5.1.1 can play the game or we users of this IOS cannot play the game anymore?
Same issue as everyone else. Tried deleting, reloading, rebooting....nothing.
Supercell Please save us IOS 5.1.1 Crashing on loading.
Same problem here too :(
Same problem here, please fix it
Same problem here 5.1.1 ios on an android phone been playing for a little under 2 years. Highly upset i cant play.I contacted coc through email they sent email saying to contact through game. How can i do that if i cant even redownload clash of clans?
Worked fine after update. After Second push update crashes every time. IPad 1 5.1.1. Please fix.
Same problem here, anyone has any solution? Tried almost all options you can think of... Me sad :(
Found this looking for solution, might still work!
http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...nger-supported
It looks like devices under 5.1.1 were orphaned under support that was updated 2 days ago in the help file. But I double checked I'm at 5.1.1 and now its still broken.
Yeah according to requirements it should run on my ipad too, but nope :(
Reading up on this error message on google, it seems the developers have to set a number for the "target platform" before compiling the app. By default, it's the latest iOS version. It has to be set to a lower number, if the app is supposed to run on 5.1.1
So I hope this would be a simple thing to fix for SC.
Any re-installing on our part won't help.
Same problem here. Tried everything standard...
I waited for my village to be attacked and tried logging while the attack was going. I was able to monitor the destruction of my base and was so hopeful it will stay on... but after the attack was over and it started to load the village - it crashed.
Weird thing is it triggers the message that another device is accessing your villiage on my Android phone when I am in the game and try to load it on my ipad. I'm hoping this is a simple fix.
Anyone else had any luck. This is literally game breaking, not just like the rest of the rubbish threads in support.
same boat....in a war and don't want to attack with my phone
Is it working for somebody right now or nothing yet?
I am having the same problem. Cant log in. Using iphone 3GS. iOS 6.1.6.
Let's keep this post running so SPC will notice us :o
I have huge crashlog (it's actually even longer than this), maybe it helps someone:

I confirm. iPad 3, iOS 5.1.1. Game worked for sometime after update, but then started to crash every time when start.
yeah i had same problem over last night update.... here today I tryied and started working suddenly..... its not working through 3g mobile gprs but after a while I tryied down to another wifi its working......so try it with wifi connection it will be fix for iphone 3gs n any ios 6 version:)
Still does not work.
What's funny is that the iphone properly registers as "another device trying to login" when i try to use the ipad. Also, the ipad still gives notifications as to troops being ready, was is starting..... Seems like a simple fix, alas Supercell does not seem to have the best practices as it pertains to update testing and vetting
Playing on the iphone for now, which is incredibly small and awful. Supercell fix this soon. this kind of things makes people try and play OTHER mobile games.....
I'm really glad I have some backup droid phones. If I woulda been unable to login in the greatest loot event of CoC history i would have been crushed.
I noticed that I get "notices" also even though the game will not launch past "Loading". Which is really odd. I'd love to hear that SuperCell has acknowledged this issue rather then just endless "breath-holding" that we are doing now.
Mine has not worked since update so i could not perform my war attacks, had to have someone else tell clan leader to take me out of constant wars. I usually make 2-4 war practice raids daily and 2 war raids every other day.
i know others on forums have stated no problems so i suspect something corrupted and needs clean install like from not enough memory during update. Simply removing and reinstalling from cloud does not fix it. There has to be a trace of it not allowing a fresh clean instal.
it takes a few days to break a habit and i am on day 2, i think my clash addiction is about to be broken.
Yes, SC acknowledging there is an issue would help with the waiting, but I imagine first generation ipads are not a huge sector of their user base. Maybe they can just buy us all new devices, lol.
Same problem here :(
Some further information from my end: Still the same old issue like yesterday. I also have the same crash information like we saw on page 1:

One thing I found out: If you're getting raided (Notification pops up) then you can start the game, progress bar continues till 100% and you can watch the attack (Looks like I'm Champ 2 now, got already approx 600-900 Trophies during my "outage"). As soon as the battle ends (where you'd expect to see your village) the game crashes again with the same error above.
I hope these information help the developers for their troubleshoot.
I'm the same personal problem
I have the same issue with 6.0.1 but on data only. It works with wifi
Well, have only wifi and play only at home. But thanks for sharing :)
I'm glad I'm not suffering alone.
This problem is now visible all over the place, including threads in this forum that SC checks.
As I said in an earlier post, I think SC will have to fix this with a patch, we probably can't do anything about it, i.e. re-installing / reseting and the like will not work.
Just hope this issue will be fixed in the first patch that comes out.
I'm having the same issue. Have done all recommended fixes and nothing works. I emailed them through the game on my phone and got a generic reply stating to email them through the game..... Can't email on a device that won't load. Been playing for over 2 years and spent a lot of money.... So much for taking care of loyal customers.
Hey guys,I m using an iPad 1st gen running iOS 5.1.1 and I m happy to say that COC just works fine on my device after the latest update.SC hasn't yet ended the support for us.
Ipad1 only 256m ram and 512m on ipad2.
i wonder if the new village size takes too much ram? Or the new polished graphics?
whatever, either they patch the memory use or its beyond repair.
I have an ipad 1 ,ios 5.1.1 maxed out th9 cant log in....My God,this better be fixed...SC !
the technology is updating and upgrading as coc so you or we should upgrade our devices to a new one too!
The update didn't break it. It was the "downloading content" a few hours later.
No my ipad2 has never loaded the game since the update was released. I do get clan mail notify and a request to come back my villagers need a leader.
o well my ipad2 is working fine and I will find other games to $upport.
clash of kings? Bwahahahaha
If indeed 5.1.1 is no longer supported all we need is an update on the Support pages. Please SuperCell let us know what the deal is.
Ok. I managed to reset my ipad and get it to work. But now I can't recover my old villiage cause I completely reset it and versions below 7.1 of IOS don't support switching. Oh well, I'm getting a new tablet for Xmas.
Question I have now is how do I set it up so my ipad can recover an account or if there's some way to reset it again and load the game without having to do tutorial.
http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...-ios-version-7
I'm going to try this later. If it works, then the fix appears to be to completely reset your iPad and see if the game works. If it does, and it probably will, then use the method from link above to recover your villiage. Requires another I device.
Yeah crash city. I wonder if I could get a 2nd "link a device" attempt. Prob no.
Any word on this yet Supercell? Losing patience and downloading some other games in the meantime....
iPad Air 2 coming for xmas, but who knows what games will be the priority by then :)
Still waiting for some SC suggestions and/or comments
I have the same problem!! Please SC Fix it
Come on, jerks. At least acknowledge the issue and say you're working on it even if you're not.
iphone4 ios5.1.1 can't login game
Not being obtuse but....Why don't you just update the operating system?
there are some on here quoting devices that certainly support more recent versions of iOS
http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...aceful-service
Don't want to do the full story anymore :(
bumping this to keep it active others have posted new thread which are not complete as this.
How come after so many days from the update we are not worth a simple answer by Supercell to let us know at least if they will look into the problem of IOS 5.1.1 or we have to delete the game?
hello guys!
Here we go again, COC launched a big updates few days ago. Yay! great!!! Nice updates thou if only i can enjoy it! :) But, here's the problem as usual eveytime SC post the new updates some devices can't work properly. here's my problem; i'm using ipad 5.1.1. they said that will work on still & supported as version of IOS. I was glad to know that until i downloaded the new big updates few days ago and guess what? Nothing's work out.. downloaded the game and tried to open it and theres a pink bar fully loaded and then crashed back to the main screen...as usual, same modos operande, uninstalled and reinstalled game. Powered off and on the device, bla, bla, bla, ..and restart the process.. but, hopeless & running ideas how to do to make it work:(...If ever one of the SC staff can read this, pls, pls,,, tell me if there's any patch or solution for this.. Or you might fix it for the sake of all people using IOS 5.1.1!!!..thank you and lookin forward to hear from you guys!!!:)
SC got back to me, said they are aware of the issue and working on a fix....
Dear Chief,
Thanks for writing to us.
We greatly appreciate you taking the time to report this. We’re aware of the issue, and our game team is doing its best to solve it ASAP. Furthermore, I apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Meanwhile: remember to check Apple's App Store, in addition to the Google Play Store. This way you can make sure you’ve installed any recent, important updates.
Clash On!
I have the same issue. Not possible to start the game with ipad 1st gen
Even worst,.. I have restore Ipad to factory default and install the game again.
When I connect to game center a message appears...
Something like, ... There is a village in game center but imposible to download.. Ios 7 is needed.
Please. Solve this.. Two years playing and now it is not possible in ipad1
I did a complete factory reset to mine and when I tried to load mine it told me it only supports iOS 7 or higher.

ios 5.1.1 on my iphone having the same loading problem too..help
OK, first of all, this message has popped up since forever. iOs 5.1.1 has always worked this way until the update. You just could only play one village only, you cant switch villages, but it used to always work. Lets keep going until we hear from a knowledgeable Supercell source about it being no longer supported. Or keep checking the app store
FYI, as of now, it still clearly says in the AppStore v8.67.3 under the Compatibility "Requires iOS 5.1.1 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch."
