I have an idea that would make SC a lot of money and a lot of players happy...

And it would be a good idea for Christmas...

Have a FREE DAY. For a single 24 hour period, all the gold, elixir, and dark elixir is 100% free of charge. All you want, FREE. Now here's the catch...

During that 24 hour period, the cost to gem build time is doubled. So a Hero 1 week build time that is normally 1000 gems now becomes 2000.

But the people who are willing to spend $100 (14,000 gems) could up their King or Queen 7 levels in a single day because of the free DE. Or, a brand new th9 or th10 who is having trouble competing in their new matchmaking could quickly build some new defenses or level up some troops due to free gold and elixir (with the cost of some gems). Or people could just experiment with more expensive armies due to the free resources.

If this were done, I could see a lot of people spending hundreds of dollars that day. I could also see it being SC's single most profitable day ever.

I don't even know what to say about this suggestion! :smirk:

How old am I? Old enough to have spent close to $1000 but not willing to spend another cent until SC comes up with better ideas than the load of ♥♥♥♥ they've spread over the past 2 weeks.

While I don't necessarily like everything about the update, this idea is the actual definition of "a load of ♥♥♥♥"!

How many gems would this "free day" cost?

Um... Fun but unrealistic. SC would also miss out on the people who gem resources.

They do offer promos for the holidays. using only one gem to speed up troops and elixer etc.. Can't wait for this but they should offer it more often at least 4 times a year.

Well this isn't one of those better ideas. Even if you weren't allowed to spend resources on walls during that period, I just don't see it happening.

I can think of several other ideas though that would make them money and make players happy.

The main one is a premium account, which you either pay for once or more likely costs a monthly subscription of probably about $3-8.

Any number of perks could be given to premium members. The two I would start with would be reduced troop training time by about 20-30%, and limited time special offers that would come up for a few days or a week each month. Depending on the price it could also include a certain number of gems.

Other possible perks include reduced troop/spell cost, reduced build time, and reduced hero regen time, but I think the first 2 are really probably enough as long as the limited time offers are decent, and reduced troop/spell cost etc. could be some of the limited time offers as well. Other examples of limited time special offers that would only be available to premium members:

Reduced cost for boosting barracks or drills or heroes or mines, etc.

Finish builds or lab work early for half price.

Hero regen time cut in half

20% more gems free when you spend $10 or more



Some of these deals could be given to everyone, but I still think a premium account with more frequent/better deals is a good idea.
