There was a thread somewhere explaining the WB AI. I think they have a range and if you go outside that range then they will do silly things.
Distance usually. Imagine each eligible target are points on a pyramid, and the release point is the top. They target the closest, if two are equally apart half will attack one, half attack the other. Eligible wall has a building behind it and the path around the wall is less than 20 spaces or so. I haven't noticed them attacking empty compartments though, although usually they will open the compartment next to it as well.
come to think of it ive never seen a 1x1 either.
sorry, I just mean a compart with only one square enclosed, I believe the wb might of been opening a compartment to get to a compartment
