A simple way to search for a fair matchup.

SC went pretty deep into how the algorithm worked when Clan Wars was released. It has had some improvements but the core function is the same.

Just because thats what SC said doesnt mean thats what they meant. Developers and tech support personnel do not always convey the proper information when giving it. Ever try to get help my calling tech support? Same thing. It is possible what they told you is correct, but it might be broken

If SC had an algorithm that vastly widened the search parameters after hours of searching, that would be a flaw and they would seek to fix it. Otherwise it could lead to a vastly wide range matchup of a clan with max player th8 and a clan with multiple th10s, resulting in a poor review and image on SC. That would drive potential customers away, contrary and contradictory to what SC aims for.

they sent me an automated message like 90% of their replies so I really doubt it was mis information lol.

and no I definitely havent seen that big of a gap for sure. but just a couple wars ago we had a 3 th 10 gap with their worst being better than our best, all across the board they were stronger. I fell asleep while searching and a 1 hr search gave us that. Very rare to get extreme mis matches while stopping searches

Supercell always does things to turn customers away though... They are extremely far from a flawless system. It's been nearly 2 years since I've been playing and the queen still attacks random walls instead of a building right in front of her at random times. Supercell decides to give a nod to war guys by changing... Farming.... Rather than war... If that isn't a slap In the face to war guys pushing them away then I have no clue what is lol.

supercell doesn't allow, but doesn't ban people who use come on man, supercell never has had their stuff together lol.

I have done the stop search after 2 hours and then started the next search and within 3 minutes after starting the 2nd search we were paired with a largely overpowered clan.

If you get a screenshot of the person saying they use the mod or of them actually using it, sc does ban them. I have seen it happen. They need some way to prove it, otherwise the financial investment in gems a play made could result in a lawsuit should they be banned without proof of an infraction.

Thats why you rarely see people in Champ or above actually admit to using mods. They know it can result in bans.

Just saying my personal experiences and what supercell themselves have told me. I can't do much more than that lol.

just back on topic, supercell focuses so much towards farming and pushing, but for a large portion of clashes pushing is pointless. Farming is what we do to get stronger fast, war is what we do for fun... Mis matches stink, they can be made better. Since supercell doesn't give us the opportunity for easy arranged matches, and in interviews showed little interest in changing that, it would be nice for them to give us consistently fair effortless match ups.

the new update I feel will be great, and pretty crappy at the same time. A lot of changing to farming, making harder to grow if you rarely raid, making more active players. Most clans aren't hardcore neither is mind. When we get mis matched it stinks.

if you had a option to search for however long without vastly broadening the search spectrum wouldn't you like that? It seems like a fair, simple, and easy way to war. That's just my thoughts, I will look for one of the conversations I had with supercell I know the one I'm talking about is long gone though

I agree with your first statement.

The second one, lol, not so much. SC has never focused on Farming. They did not foresee or intend people to set bases up to receive instant shields by putting TH out for sniping. They stated this in interviews. This one little thing cause a major negative hit to the clash economy. That was not what supercell intended and for years, they have been trying to come up with ways to change that. This update should make that change happen. They want people to participate in the economy, not attack for 6 hours getting 2-3 million in loot, then put their th out for a quick shield by a lower th level player looking to get a few free trophies.

They also never thought they would see th6's in champions league as a result of sniping. This update should change that and move the th6 closer to the league they belong, it will be a timely trickle down and probably wont fully work the way they hope, but it is a goal they are aiming for.

The end result SC is looking for is player participation. They want everyone to contribute to the economy by getting attacked. This update should make it more likely you will lose some loot. To counter, they are increasing the loot you gain in raids as well.

I think you're correct, I should've said they focus so heavily on pushing and left it. I actually like the theory of this update a lot, but I dislike that so many people that are in, or work around supercell are saying "here you go war guys, we fixed farming for you" lol.

Personally it feels like war is the last thing that supercell focuses on which stinks a lot, because it's the part of the game that I enjoy the most. I understand it's a business and that letting heroes into war when they're being upgraded would take away from their profits, if I ran supercell I wouldn't ever do this, and I don't expect them to help out that much. I just wish they'd fix the things that are clearly broken. I'm a big fan of most of the things supercell does updates on, unfortunately we don't get much to change war.

in the attatched screen shot "I understand that your clan was matched up with higher clan members. I'm sorry to hear you feel you've been pitched against such tough opponents. One of our top priorities is making sure players and clans can find opponents at all times, and not get stuck waiting for the absolutely idea match."

Nobody interested in this idea?
