Buying week long shields is more profitable than boosting elixir for th8 defenseless

Discovered something weird. Never realized this. i always boosted to save for donation troops.

Heres the math. For a th8 defenseless. If u got it to th10 it would be way better.

For 7 days. your collectors will get you 3.528 mill. For a 250 gem shield.
For a 420 gem boost of 7 days u will make 7.056 mill. minus 250k loss every 16 hours. if your attacker doesnt troll u and leave before 90%. (i know it is 300k possibly lootable for th8 im just doing 250 because for the first few days u wont be at the cap. if someone here knows how to use the right formula to get the gradual loss thing go ahead haha. im not a mathematician.) = 4.431 mill

i used to boost with my defenseless whenever i wanna up a donation troop. never even considered shields. (if this has been posted before pls link it :))

tldr: 250 gem shield will get a defenseless account 3.5 mill in 7 days. boosting for 420 gems will get u 4.4 mill. but u have to set an alarm every 16 hours. which is hard.

Interesting for sure as you don't need much resources for a defenceless account. Having said that, it's quite costly in gems as you can't get that many gems a week from simply removing obstacles. I personally don't have a defenceless as I don't see the appeal but perhaps this would be useful to some.

people mainly focus their raiding on their main account. defenseless account really build up in gems. i had 700 last week. an some achievements can give u 1000 gems. we dont intend to buy shields every week. also theres a 35d cooldown so...

its a better way to spend gems. unless u wanna boost raiding. and thats only needed when u want th10 troops. cuz thats too costly.

If the attacker only drops a few troops, you won't get a shield, only a 15 minute village guard.

You are doing the math for not collecting every time you come on. If you boost your collectors and go offline, get a shield, come back on later, then collect everything, then people will not have a chance to steal a lot.

Walls are enough.. I have a defenseless with walls at level 7(minimum 2wb wall level)

They need more than half barch army to open walls and get cc, bk to get the de.. So depending on layout and cc.. It's possible to get shield if you build walls..

Also ya, I have been buying shield from th7-8 for 20k+ de upgrades. Easiest way to do it imo.. Level 4 hogs upgrade going on without ever raiding.. 2 level 3 drills. 2.2-2.5k de from war every 2 days

Edit: I have all traps for th8 and maxed them except small bombs. It helps to defend easily upto th6. Only th7+ gets 3. With added 30 seconds, that's going to change I guess in war

boosting barracks is cheaper actually, wheres the fun in tapping collectors for a week? thats stupid, cant believe ppl actually buy shields

I bought a 2 day shield last year when I was a new TH9. I couldn't seem to get my L6 Giant because I was getting looted so hard even with TH outside. What I know now is that I just needed to be in a much higher league with TH outside to not loose max loot multiple times per day. I never bought one since then, and don't think I will ever buy one in the future either.

Ya shield works great if you don't have the time to play and can't ever upgrade anything.

Also, you can do both (Shield + gem mines and collectors). You may as well get two upgrades for each one week shield.

2. Defensless people are noobs bigger than me. And all this 8.5 /9.5 craps.

I see guy in war who is full th10 with gems. He haved max troops and I was only medium th9. I 3 starred him. He got 1 star.

gems build up if u dont boost. and for a defenseless i feel this works great. if u dont plan to raid since its just there to donate to your main and u have max donation stuff. maybe u should try it? :) donating to ur self is too quick. and u can have as bad a donation ratio because u are getting it from urself

Rather than spend gems on shields, why not spend gems on troop levels. It's more effective and lasting. Yeah it sucks getting raided but thats what happens with a defensless acc. Boost barracks when u need money for upgrades. Wars will reimburse you money to build the armies.

i dont raid on this account thats why. on my main yes boosting is the best way to spend gems. defenseless. buying shields.
