Well, I don't know how you'd get this type of attack to work without Golems. You're right about Valkyrie being tanky, but they just aren't tanky enough. You can experiment, but it might seem difficult. Without the Golems I think those Loons might go down quicker since Valkyrie don't have as much HP as a Golem.

With this base, the best way to attack would be to attack from two sides, the two AD's on the right. You will clear the buildings on the sides and create a funnel for the BK/Valks/extra Wiz, and get them in with WB's. By this point, the Golems and Valkyrie should be taking the most damage, leaving your Wiz and BK to help destroy the inner core as well as those AD's. Once you see that it is safe enough to drop the Balloons, try and get them to target the defenses that are at least distracted. If you rush it, then the Balloons could end up being targeted by Archer towers.

The question being: Do I need Golems? My answer would be yes for this style of attack. They seem to be the most efficient and you don't always need to worry about Valkyrie needing to be healed if you bring them.

In my opinion, using a loot efficient army in war just doesn't always seem to work. Don't try and save DE by not using Golems, for GoVaLo, Golems are almost a must-have unless you're a very experienced player and feel comfortable going in without major tank troops.

Also, you have no reason to rage your valks in the core. If you heal a group of valks, at the end of the spell, you have a bunch of valks at full health and they shredded everything inside the spell area. If you rage a group of valks, at the end of the spell, you have a bunch of valks at whatever health they were at before. Jump into the core, heal your valks, jump out of the core (something useful I said in my post, which evidently you missed).

Most of his troops besides his BK and Golems will be able to attack this base. He posted a second screen shot with TH8 and TH8.5 troops, he'll be capable of getting a 3 star. As for the Rage and Heal, you were right. But Heals alone aren't as effective, usually better to have a little more damage inside the core since defenses will be firing from the sides.

I don't think your response is relevant. If you were an experienced Valkyrie strategist you would see that it is definitely possible to pull off a 3 star with his lvl troops.

What "most of his troops"? He has a level 6 king, 5 queen, and super low golems and valks for th9. Nothing he has for it is even th9 level. Is it better to have more damage? Yes, better than less damage, but less useful than a jump and a heal. As for experience, experienced people don't know the strength of low level troops because they don't have them.. but all my attempts with lower troops failed miserably then I upgraded them and lo and behold they lived long enough to win.

Decide my response isn't relevant all you want, I look forward to seeing that he ends up two starring this base.

Main force GoWiVa enter at 3'oclock with 2 wallbreakers to break one wall, jump spell into center compartment only where you will rage/heal valks/golem/king. Save 5 hogs to drop on left cannon, will path to far left AD. Consider 3-4 hogs to drop on bottom cannon to path to bottom AD, though I don't think they will be necessary as valks should make it down there. Drop the 5 hogs to path to left AD when valks reach Town hall; save a heal for them, will also heal the valks. Then follow with loons. Good luck

I've seen plenty of 3 stars with those defenses with lvl 1 Valkyrie and Golems. Lvl 5 rage and heal spells can really make the difference if you have "lower level troops".

With his level troops I'm saying that rage is necessary considering his army is composed of TH8 troops. I can assure you that an 'experienced player' using this strat wouldn't choose more jump spells over rage spells considering this is a very compact base design, and that there aren't too many walls to jump over.

If you need to bring more jumps with a Valkyrie strat, then you may not be attacking the right base for the composition.

All I am saying is that it is definitely possible to 3 star TH9's with his troops. If you don't think so then I can only assume that you don't know what you're doing when it comes to this style of attack.

The second low level valks are stuck hitting walls is the second that they're dead. The key is to keep them alive under heals, if they're getting healed more than the damage in then heals are more valuable than rage.

I think he will have a difficult time getting to the core with his troop/hero levels and L5 loons probably won't cut it on the back end.

I think the suggestion to go for a safe 2 stars with either and all ground army or mass dragon zap/quake is a very reasonable one in the situation as I think a GoVaLo on this base with his troops has a high probability of 1 star attack unless he's a champion ad both Valk funneling and precise with perfect spell deployment.

Which he clearly isnt, since he thinks that he can get rid of golems and that they aren't worth leveling. Anyone who prioritizes dragons over golems simply will not have the skill to pull this off with low level troops and no experience.

I'm going out on a limb to say you must be an early TH9...

Even with the low level walls on that base, getting 3 stars against your assigned base is going to take near-flawless GoVaLo execution with these troop and hero levels. I will have to say with caution you're likely to get 2...and that if you attack from the AQ side on the east. The saving grace here are the L6 Loons.

From my POV...this is not an optimal base to GoVaLo, as the AD's aren't centralized close together in the core. GoHo would be the attack I'd suggest here...and that at the TH9 level needs maxed hogs...which you don't have yet.

For what it is worth...it's commendable you have your golems now up to 2, but you're paying the price for rushing now, by having to catch up. More than anything else in your troops...it's those low level heroes that are going to turn many potential 3 star attacks into 2 stars. I always advise maxing the BK at 10 before any TH8 punches the upgrade TH button...so make those a high priority.
