Why does Trophies matter all of the sudden?
Most of the update is geared towards defending your base, gaining trophies and losing loot. I predict the next couple of sneak peeks will conclude things we already knew about, but getting milked by supercell for additional time. (TH11, the wizard hero, eagle defense)
The point of the matter is - what is the point to getting to higher leagues now? Before - the answer was simple; TH snipes for extra loot.
We all know that loot up in these leagues is scarce, with plenty of people dumping there loot into walls. Now, there will be NO economy added to the game stage up there, even though there are more targets, more people will be behind a "shield" and able to attack.
What is the point of going up that high for an irrelevant number, when one can sit in bronze/silver/gold and do collector raids off dead bases.
This is light criticism, but I think Supercell has to work on ways to make these higher leagues more inviting for players to reach. I know many players in my clan that haven't left silver league in TWO years. This isn't a lot, most wanted gems and did that part. But after that, they immediately drop.
I posted the defense bonus thread, I am also posting this thread. But supercell, you need to take advantage of this system you are underutilizing, and you can do wonderful additions to make higher leagues worthwhile, because right now, barely any players are bothering doing this even with your changes to the trophy system.
