So apparently Lv6 loons are just too much for 8s to handle.
What is the troop load out/strategy for taking th8s out? I have lv6 loons and lv1 hounds.
Thanks!

Balloons .... + .... Lavahounds.
That generally means Lavaloon since thats what it seems like you're expecting us to say... right?
2 Lavahounds, the rest balloons.
Minions in the CC for cleanup.
If the TH8 has lvl 6 AD's, and you only have lvl 1 hounds, I'd use 3 hounds instead of the 2 the above poster suggested, just to be on the safe side. 3 hounds, 18 to 20 loons, rest minions, 4 rage spells, and you should steamroll any TH8, no matter what layout they use. It's just too overpowering!
mate, 2 hounds would be better, because the hounds would die so much more easier... so then the pups can act as cleanup after all of the air-targeting defenses are down.
Hell... Balloonion would probably work even better or even 1 hound with the rest being balloons.
36 of your loons, cc loons, 20 minions, 3 heals and a rage. Never fails if you launch upwind of the air sweeper and heal early when you have the most loons to heal. Hounds aren't needed and you're screwed if they don't pop.
.. and seriously? Cc minions? Why? You're best of being able to spread your minions out!
It's so overpowering that you might get a 98% two star of your hounds don't pop. I see that happen at a much higher rate than 42 loons failing to clear the defenses when healed appropriately, launched upwind of the sweeper. I've never seen my method fail without obvious blunders (important to not launch minions until defenses are clear)
Are you referring to farming or war?
I'd never farm with hounds, nor would I ever waste the DE in war either (if attacking a th8, of course).
Mass loons work fine, but I'd just mass dragloon a th8 if it were war. EQ light as a th9 just isn't fair and has little risk for a miss and you barely even need to plan often as well, assuming, of course, you are fairly decent at drag attacks from earlier experience.
Thanks very much guys :)
Was referring to war. Knew that loons were the way to go but had no idea of the army comp I should be using.
Just did my attack:
- 29x lv6 loons (3 for cc lure)
- 2x lv1 hounds
- 7x lv4 minions
- 15x lv6 cc minions.
- 4x rage
Lured cc to corner and killed with AQ.
Wow! I've never seen a base go down so quick. Had over 20 loons, 8 pups and all my minions alive at the end. The second hound was lucky to pop to be honest... Wouldn't take more than 2 of them otherwise I think I would risk them not popping.
As for CC: I wouldn't take a lv3 lava hound. I also would not like loons as they will be in one group and i think it's better to spread them. So I actually think the max minions is a great idea. I used my 7 minions to spread out on corner defenses, and the max minions moved in a big group for quick clean up.
Appreciate the feedback and this will now be my go to attack for TH8s (I'm an 8.5 so it happens a lot).
Cheers:thumbsup:
You have this thing called a CC.. 36 of your own, 6 CC loons, 20 minions. Minions are fine to just spread out for clean up, I use them to path the loons back into the core and hit the outside buildings. If you're not stupid and keep your minions alive, 20 is plenty. TH8 defenses can't clear 42 death loons unless your spell usage or drop is awful.
