Hi. (PLEASE don't call me a troll. This is a perfectly valid question, IMO.)
I tried "farming" and it seemed to be working (TH outside, dropped trophy count already) but most of the lower-trophy weaker bases I raided only had a few thousand resources available for looting and I need 750,000 to upgrade my TH to level 6 so is there any faster way without having to launch hundreds of raids over and over, not to mention the elixir cost to replace the troops every time?
Eh. I'd still put th on outside, but if you're a th5, be in the silver 3/2 range, and use giants, archers, and goblins. Goblins completely tear up dead bases. From experience. 1 barrack each.
If you don't need to, try not to use your whole army. After you get all the loot, aim for at least a 1 star. If you can get 3 then go for it. You want to make up the amount of trophies you lose from th on outside by good raids.

And let me tell you right now the th upgrade cost for 5 to 6 is one of the worst simply due to just how weak your defenses are right now. After 6 it gets much easier. Might take a while but it's a lot easier.
