The town hall doesn't give a shield but 30% does to the dead bases...the dead bases that won't get 30% damage done probably weren't getting a shield in the first place cuz u could just pick off the collectors with a few archers. TH sniping won't remove loot down there since its only 4,000 win bonus. Lol
I could be missing something, but I think your post basically hits things right on the head. One thing you overlooked was the effect these changes will have for top players (people gemming $100s and $1,000s a year). They are getting a buff on all counts: more trophies gained, more free time to raid (village guard 1-3 hours, and attack through shield), less trophies lost, and a HUGE buff in that they will have to be attacked at least once then they get a shield giving them a whole lot of free hours to raid again for trophies as they continue to gem their armies. I predict trophy counts will be in the 6,000 range before long, and while I believe SuperCell will lose net players, they will increase their revenues over the short run from their highest paying customers.
Since the bottom $$ line is what they really care about, this update will be considered a success. Then in around 1-2 years they will notice a significant drop in player population and not know why. After that they will have to make layoffs and the game will be dead within 2-3 more years tops, unless they realize that what they did in 2015 is causing their problems, and change accordingly.
6 mins is only if you are attacked from the outset and get a large % done to you, if you do not get a shield you back into the game for 15 mins until you are again kicked for 6 mins...then if you get attacked and hit for a huge amount at that point then you can play normally, otherwise you are kicked for a third time after which if you are then not attacked for a huge amount you are free to play the game you way until you play for 3 hours again at which point that setup happens again.

Clash of cash grabbers would be my guess. Apparently all SC employees / DEV team are actually goblins worried more about their company loot purses.
On a unrelated note, I seen a thread that said that the CEO of SC said at clash con that this game would be around for another 10 years, the only reason for that is because that is approx the time it will take most of us to earn enough loot to get to th 11 let alone max it without rushing.
I would love to see a MOD or Youtubers ACTUAL thoughts on the update so far, not the garbage they HAVE to say enable to retain their positions within the COC community.
It only makes sense the higher leagues get more of a "significant" loot bonus and lower leagues get less bonus. If higher leagues get a pathetic bonus then there is a higher chance that the lower leagues get the same terrible or maybe even lower increase % in the bonus. Higher league players need more loot because they lose a lot more loot too on defense, that will not change post-update and they will lose even more than they are now because TH counts as a resource building and needs to be protected in order to get a shield. Lower leagues don't need a bigger bonus since there are more lower level town halls down there and those town halls lose less loot.
If SC decides to invert this and give bigger loot bonuses for lower leagues, which actually doesn't make any sense though it will certainly make a lot of people happy who are in the lower leagues, then the forum rage will calm down.
But then all the trophy pushers will cry and those people are the big spenders.
I like your idea of daily quests. That would be an interesting way to promote playing, infuse loot to the game, and keep things fresh.
Re: this 10% extra league bonus, I think 10% paints a little too rosy a picture. For instance in Crystal 1, the DE bonus goes from 300 to 320. That's only 6.66%. Plus, what does 20 units of DE really do?
I'm reading all the people who are up in arms about the league bonus updates. It seems like overall the loot is going to be worse at crystal and up instead of better being that you need to get 70% to get the "greatly increased" extra 8% where as if you get 50% you get less than before. It seems like SC is trying to get people to move up but to me this sneak peak seems like it does the opposite. If loot bonus's get worse in Champions and above isn't it going to cause more people to move down and try to find better loot at lower levels since the bonus's are no longer worth it. What do you guys think?
I don't see how people will progress anymore unless they are willing to constantly spend time in this game... I'm not seeing how a casual player can progress with all the 'costs' related to defending... This is a sad day for this game, I don't see this ending well, and I lived thru the hero adjustments....
