Too early to say as only 3 sneak peeks have been released, but as of now I think it will stay about the same.
Edit: Don't say it will change because more traps will be disarmed and will need to be re-armed, because now that the sniping is gone there will not be the bases with 4 or 5 giant bombs, skeleton traps, bombs, spring traps, and air bombs around the town hall.

Tell me one good reason to farm in lower leagues after the update.
No town hall snipes, no nothing(town hall snipes in beginning, but no loot after a certain point), constantly losing resources. Feeding off the dead bases. All loot will disappear eventually.
Think about it for a second. You might have fun in the beginning, taking advantage of all the resources down there and having a good time sniping TH's. What will happen when all the loot is gone? No more collector bases because no shield given for getting rid of the town hall.
Have fun then. You will have to push eventually. People like to call me a troll but they never think first.
Not a fan of this update
As the title says, I fear the worse will come from this update, which is a loss of interest in a game that no longer supports quick, fast raids, in hope the players make big armies and test their skills. I think we have a place for that sort of testing already... It's called war! If war wasn't bad enough to plan out and successfully raid already, I'm sure adding multiplayer to the same level of skill will create a major portion of the community quitting quickly. Couldn't raid in war before, won't be able to raid in multiplayer now against all these defensive bases sounds like a quick way to lose ALOT of your current and future players ( bad word of mouth travels faster than a good word of mouth) To be honest, none of the shield stuff was necessary. I believe the loot portion of the update would of successfully closed the TH snipe loophole. Players would be less likely to keep TH out with it offering a percentage of available loot, and attackers would be less likely to perform snipes as the loot league bonus would not be there. I think better than shield changes would have been change the color of revenge button from red to green when another player was available to be revenged! There's still time for this change in the sneak peeks ( doubtful)
I don't even want to imagine having to farm a th11 base with these changes....
This specific sneak peak is rather disheartening to me. I feel as though they've completely swung and missed with this. To claim that a 10% increase in league bonus loot is "significant" is just ridiculous and somewhat insulting to the overwhelming majority of clashers. Meanwhile the only way to obtain said "increase" is to go for near 3star attacks.
The part that's missing with this game is incentive to push higher. Why would anyone prefer to spend 100s of thousands in elixir and hours training troops just for an insignificant amount of extra loot? I for one will continue to sit in gold league and pound dead bases with barch attacks.
If you want people to climb the league ladder, make it worth the time and resources! Double....even triple the bonus loot for the upper tiers. Or how about daily quests? Give us a reason to log on multiple times per day. Quest: Destroy at least 90% of 3 bases in X League for XXX,000 reward....anything as simple as that.
By removing town hall sniping for bonus loot you're not encouraging anyone to climb, in fact you've done just the opposite. I feel as though most players will sit in the lower leagues just the same and continue to farm those dead bases as before. Big disappointment for me with this sneak peak.
From what I have seen, it will be impossible to break your shield unless you attack several times.
Lets say I am pushing, I want to defend to gain cups. An average pushing army including spells takes about 2-3 hours to build (no boost, I know y'all are very fond of spending gems, I'm not).
In the current system: I next once, my shield is broken and I go offline to defend.
In the new system: Nexting doesn't break the shield, so I have to attack 3 times (with a 12 hour shield lets say; 12-3-4-5=0) in order to defend again? I would understand if sniping would still work, 3 snipes, done. But now that everyone is going to have pushing bases, that isn't possible anymore.
And I do not wanna just drop a barb 3 times because then I would lose cups.
I saw in the Village Guard post that it can be dismissed, what about the shield?
For me defenses were the main part of the little pushing I have done.
