If it wasn't intended from the start why wait 3 years to fix it? I mean sure. If it was an unwanted exploit which manifested early on, they should have changed it back then. Why leave it for 3 years to have people get used to it and many MANY people base their gameplay around it and then change it?
I got hooked to this game (almost 2 years ago now) and I liked the game because it was easy to start even if there were many players that were a much higher level than me back then. The game didn't penalize you at all. SOME of the planned changes are going to change that.

Technically I couldn't care less as I'm a max TH10 (sans heroes and walls) but still this annoys me. It IS going to be a VERY different game on the day the update drops

If the majority of people prefer playing the way they do now it doesn't matter what was intended from the start. If SC will increase their profits with these changes, then sure, it makes sense that they're changing the game. However that remains to be seen. People that don't spend on gems are still important for promoting the game to those who will spend on gemming.

If a large number of casuals and such leave the game because of these updates will the cash cows still want to spend and play? Supercell is betting that they will clearly but I wonder. Game hype, popularity, prestige etc. is a big reason cash cows spend to be at the top of that game. If the game isn't as popular or prestigious will they stay?

Not a rhetorical question... I really don't know.

I use a GiBarchWi army for raids.. im able to get good loot, good destruction, and i make more than i spend... Army takes me 35-40 minutes to cook BUT SPELLS TAKE ME 1.5-1.75 HOURS... I Could cook 2 armys in the time spells take...

1. Cut The Spells Traininh Time.. yes AGAIN!
2. Cut The Troops AND Spells COSTS since it will be harder to hold on to loot... You wanna see us ATTACK AND DEFEND more right??? Obviously FASTER N CHEAPER armies will bring loads of that! DONT ♥♥♥♥ THIS UP SC

I think you are 100% correct. This makes so much sense! They are trying to create competition for their new TH11s.

Ive seen mentioned a few times that these new changes have been tested thoroughly. By whom? Galadon, ash and their ilk or 1000 8 year old kids? If your intent is to have a game with only around 1000 players in total then bravo and good luck all you top guys. Gonna be more clouds than ever if noone can make headway. I will never push trophies. Gaining different colour pixels has never interested me in any game and i see nothing else to be gained by trying to top the league tables. Gaining the ability to perform more and better game actions through concerted effort in upgrading and building gives me a smile. Changing a digital badge from silver to gold to purple to ...... is so boring i have never understood the drive to do it. If that was all there was to developing a successful game then mafia wars would be the world class top ranking game and still be played by more than 8 people. But it's not.
