6 minutes is hardly forever.

Interestingly, it appears that sniping still has a place. If you get sniped 3 times, you'll be mercy ruled and you will reset your 3 hour personal break timer. So continue to farm low leagues while not caring about trophies to your heart's content!
And perhaps the VGs are so good in Titan because they want to push people to higher leagues...
Well, I kind of like this particular thread:
http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...LL-READ-PEOPLE
I have no hope right now to read the entire thread, even if I wasn't semi busy right now.
So I took comments on the first five pages that caught my interest, and will try to answer them.
Lol, XD Good one, funny joke. (will laugh harder if serious).
Spend more than a few hours on Ideas and Suggested Features board, and you will know there are criticisms on the old shield system.
Please do more research. (sorry for the unintentional singling out)
This I can totally understand. I'm still trying to wrap my head around d the finer details of this very much game changing update, and because of that, haven't been able to get excited about it just yet.
Long story short, casual players will not likely see the majority of the features in action, but the main features will help reduce stress for players, casual and hardcore.
The few (lifeless?) people like me will run into more of the features, because of the 3 hour online time limit.
No.. this is not a money grab. Yes it can generate money for them, but casual players will like the grace periods this Village Guard gives, and there is no real reason to spend money, other than for convenience when attacking or being attacked would be awkward for them. Heck, 10 gems? That is tiny. Even people that don't buy gems could use this feature every now and then!
Huh No.. Do you even play casually? Have to fully read and (partly) comprehended what this update is about? This update features meshes so well with what I know of CoC gamer behavior, that I'm still trying to find the end of the ramifications of this update!
I feel for you. This is the first major update feature I've see where I was left confused and unexcited, just because of the complexity of it. Can't exactly rejoice or be disappointed about something you don't fully understand after all.
Honestly, I really hate these cynical comments about some soul-less company doing another money making scam as a first reaction, since it seems so short sighted to me, as well as damaging and ovelry negative. I admit, I call other companies out on some scams, but I can't see Supercell being one of them.
Personal feelings aside, this seems premature in it's evaluation. So much of the gamers' behavior will change from the first update sneak peek stuff, this update sneak peek stuff, and the still to come update features. Almost all the old assumptions of style of game play for Clash of Clans are being wrecked like a hardcore player stomping on a rushed nOOb's base.
It is hard for me to predict how these feature will really be used by the playerbase, but so far, as pieces fall into place (or rather, get revealed) it becomes more clear how things are going towards a well thought out grand overhaul that would fix or improve the majority of the systemic issues CoC has. It is one thing to say "we will fix everything" and another to do it. So far from just two days, SC is showing off its work in correcting what most wouldn't bother to correct in a game, and just leave it for dead.
This is effectively Clash of Clans 2, while still keeping things running, and transfer people from the old one to the new one.
Some questions / pov:
1) Quite curious what happens if some hardcore and rich player buys 7 day shield and tries a 3hour raiding session, would you get kicked out consistently until your shield expires (assuming you attacks don't burn the full 7 days out)?
2) Anyone below TH9 no matter how strong will get rekt by 1 TH higher there is no doubt. Suppose I am accumulating for something like an Xbow that is 7 mil and I have 5 million now and 400k fat loot waiting for people. Also assume I am less pro and raid for 150k per raid with some gowiwi or smth, and raiding 3 times (3 + 4 + 5 = 12hr) may break my shield. That leaves me on average net 50k every 3 hours, not counting army costs. I might as well sit out with my max collectors during the shield and get 3k x 6 collectors x 3 hours = 54k. Hence, it doesn't mean activity => Better loot. This also doesn't mean no activity => better loot.
tl:dr version of 2) More gold/elixir flowing between bases does not lead to more resources for everyone. That means its harder to upgrade.
3) As of this post, nothing, nothing at all screams fun / happiness to me. Is this still a game?
I am throwing in the towel if there is no additional incentive for defences won (like some loot / gems perhaps). After all, that seems to be the new "fun" factor if i may say.
- From a business perspective, I find it interesting how charging people for their "inactivity" will turn out (Perhaps players will really end up inactive!). It's never about the 10 gems, its the gems you spend when u can't farm reliably (either by attacking or collecting)
- From a programmer's perspective, I empathise with them for the effort they put in to put less smiles on the faces of people just because mouths need to fed.
Been playing since April 2014, 50% done with TH10. I have raided 6 hours in a row and have also not raided 6 days in a row, just collecting nowadays (because life). I hope that when all the sneak peaks are out, the game's learning curve is less steep than Dota 2.
Holy ♥♥♥♥. Can you see a brand new noob who just downloaded COC from the app store trying to figure all this out? Completes the tutorial, and then gets hit with this complicated mess? If people who have been playing for years are having this kind of trouble understanding this, how do you think a brand new noob will respond? Probably delete COC and find another game...
People are complaining about things they don't understand and assuming things they don't know. This is no longer a speculation thread!
