I get the concept and think in principle that it is fine, but it is complete ♥♥ that you might not be able to make a war attack. As leader of my clan I spend a lot of time helping new players, reviewing attacks, providing feedback, etc. All online time that has nothing to do with raiding. Also I spend a fair amount of time sizing up a base before committing. I have literally looked at a base for 20 minutes to visualize all of the steps in an attack before committing and it's complete ♥♥ to think that I could be thrown off in the middle of prepping a crucial war attack. Especially for top seeded players in the clan who typically hold their last war attack until literally the last few minutes so we know strategically the best place to target. Along those lines sometimes players actively farm to help get the resources to fill war CC during prep day. Also, if I'm in the middle of trying to mentor a junior player it would really suck if all of a sudden I get the boot.
Does this online timer count for all time online or just online without a shield? My impression is that it's just the latter. But it's really confusing and could be hard to manage. I don't quite get how the village idiot, err guard plays into this if you need to get on to make a war attack. It says I can buy village idiot time with gems but if the game doesn't let me on, how do i get to the shop?
This issue is especially relevant for clans that are farm/war hybrids like ours. I think there should be some consideration for war built into this personal timer.
I would strongly suggest the following to the developers:
1. No one can be booted during the last hour of preparation day.
2. No one can be booted during the last hour of the actual war/battle day.
3. Players being forced to take a personal break have a change in clan symbol so others in the clan know what's happened.
It would greatly simplify a lot of issues while still maintaining the whole concept of personal breaks.
