The pbt timer doesn't run while you have a shield. The forced breaks are at most 3x6 minutes.

The way I understand the explanation of the new PBT:
If I log in and have a shield, my PBT will not start counting down to kickoff until my shield is completely depleated. My shield will not be depleated until after my 3rd attack. It takes me a little over an hour to train troops, spells, and hero regeneration. Therefore, it will take from 2-3 hours to fully depleat my shield. My PBT will start at that point, and I will have another 3 hours before I get sent to timeout. So, If I have this correct, I will have somewhere between 5 & 6 hours of gameplay before the PBT boots me. Not too much different than the 6 hours I have now.

If I have this wrong, feel free to enlighten me.

You have it about right there. Plus you are only kicked for 6 minutes at a time.

Read the sneak peek. It's so your village goes into the pool of attackable villages and you get the chance to defend and other people get the chance to take your loot.

I never saw that your PB timer doesn't run while you're on shield. All I saw was '3 hours cumulative online time". This would help for sure, but I don't know where you saw this. I'm hoping I just missed it somewhere during my sneak peek browsing.

Shield resets obt. Pbt time doesn't start counting online time until your shield is over.

Supercell is now only concerned with catering to the gemmers..put out updates so they will gem everything...shield changes is ridiculous, attacking from behind a shield is the worst update ever..this game is really going going to ♥♥♥♥ fast...new hero for th11 gemmers to beat up on the th10s with..unless you wanna gem up and be a premie 11 just to get hero which supercell encourages..very disappointed

The personal break time isn't fair at all. Supercell stated that to get kicked out for 6 minutes, you need to get 3 hours of cumulative time which means that it won't matter if we go offline for a while, unless we get attacked by someone else for 30% damage.

Now, to emphasis the worse. Here's the two worse things that can happen, 1 for attackers, 1 for defenders

1. People will now make weaker defensive layouts just for the shields. They will do this because they want the shields, so they can play more. Also, on another side, you will be bored of attacking for trophies because of the weak defensive layouts. This means Clash will decrease in popularity because of this and the next thing I'll mention.

2. If you get disconnected because of PBT, you risk losing your resources, especially when you want a very expensive upgrade like a Lv. 4 Clan Castle or a Lv.10 Barracks, or a Lv.6 Dark Barracks. Which we all know, it is a pain when we lose our hard worked loot, which I hope, the next thread fixes this up.


Summary: The game will get boring due to PBT, because of impossible builds and easy wins.

To help the people who clash actively, why not grant a guard after attack and get rid of the rule preventing online gamers from being attacked.

Currently, armies take easily 30 minutes to prepare but we are disconnected after 15 minutes or so. It becomes impossible to perform more than one attack in a row.

This would be much more rewarding and less disruptive then the personal break system.

It would also get rid of the advantage some obtains by using robots or other means to keep their device active artificially.

Under the changes announced, I have a hard time imagining how a casual clasher who is working over the week will be able survive.

Yo so this update w/ all this PBT and shield stuff is confusing and hard for me to remember all this gem stuff. Someone explain it to me like Im 5 yrs old.
