I hope the game developers make this better, along with giving us at least 4 hours' play instead of 3.
Played online games for a long time, and have seen many different courses taken as far as changing the game over time. Naturally they run the gamut from really good to pathetically stupid. Given what's known about gaming and how players act - this is 2015, after all - I'm surprised at Supercell, here. Not all of the coming changes are bad, and of course what all happens really remains to be seen. But hard for me to see a sensible rationale for kicking your players off, especially with the stated wish for them to play more, attack more, etc.
So is the pbt cumulative?
If so, what is the maximum time a forced break can be?
I ask this because if u have no shield and the pbt is nearly at 3 hours and u upgrade a unit etc, and have a small amount of loot up for grabs u are not going to get hit at all.
My main concern about the PBT is that it forces you offline for 6 minutes. What happens if you are in the middle of an attack after the cumulative 3 hours? Do you lose the attack, troops you made up for the attack and the trophies? What happens if you are about to do a last minute war attack? 5 minutes left in the war, you have made up an expensive army and you are kicked offline for 6 minutes. War is over when you are allowed back on. You needed those stars to win and your clan then loses the war. This is a likely scenario after the changes as we will not be under shield as much.
At the moment I tend to go under shield for my war attacks so my cc troops aren't lost defending a multiplayer attack before I can do my war attack. This will be harder to do after the changes.
Rather than forcing you offline, instead why don't you allow the player to stay online but also allow their multiplayer village to be attacked.
This, this and this. Our reward for having a base that defends well is to be kicked off more times and possibly for longer than those with bad/rushed bases. This is the only part of the update I absolutely do NOT support. I can't for the life of me understand their rationale. I sincerely hope SC reconsiders this madness.
That's what it sounds like to me as well. But I'm just not sure. I hate not being able to play six hours straight; if it MUST be reduced, I wish they'd at least make it something like 4 hrs and XX mins to match up to the 2 hour barracks boost and give a little time for loot checks in the day. The cumulative nature is a killer too.
The point I am trying to make (maybe not very clearly!) is that after the changes it will be harder to get a shield. So if I'm not under a shield, I will be using my cumulative 3 hour time limit scouting war bases, watching other war attacks and so on. The PBT could then activate and throw me offline just as I'm about to do a war attack, which would be a problem if it was the last few minutes of the war. At least I think that is how they are suggesting it works.
What I'm suggesting is that rather than throwing you offline, they allow your multiplayer village to be attacked and stop you attacking in multiplayer mode for the 6 minutes, while allowing you to stay online. Then you could still do the last minute war attack.
I don't understand the logic behind the BPT, changes. We want to make the game so more people attack, but we are going to take away the amount of time that you have to attack. I can live with the idea of getting kicked off for 6 minutes, after 3 hours, but if we don't get attacked in that time we only have 15 minutes to play before we are kicked off again? Doesn't seem right to me.
