Eh its fairly easy to design a base if you're max th8 and wont get three starred by drags or gowipe from a fellow th8 very often.

Hogs are a little tougher to defend against. Now if you're saying that even the best max th8 bases are gonna get tripled by a th9 then yes nothing you can do about that.
