Poison - DPS or DPA by Poisoned Units/Heroes with Attack Rate Drop
Ever since the Sept update, I felt that poison has been nerfed somewhat and takes too much time to deal its effective damage. Since then I have been using it as a Slow Spell.
But there is not much explanation about the damage calculation by poisoned units.
The Max Poison will drop the attack rate of a poisoned unit/hero by 50%.
This means that it will take double the time for that unit/hero to make a strike.
For example, if a balloon is poisoned, the normal strike rate per 4 sec will now be 8 sec.
Now comes the grey part :
Based on common understanding, a drop in attack rate will delay the strike to a later timing but at the same damage. That is if damage is calculated on a per attack basis (DPA).
However, Supercell has been providing information as damage per sec (DPS)
[Note: I have to say that things can be different in the COC Universe]
Continuing with the balloon example :
The DPA of a balloon is 648 (162 X 4s). If going by a DPA basis, it will still deal 648 at 8 sec strike frame.
However if the damage is on DPS basis, it will be double of that at 1296.
So it's massive to know whether the engine on damage is formulated in DPA or DPS.
For anyone who knows the structure, please do share the information for all who are concerned.
Thanks alot fellas!!!
