POLL: Increase War Battle Time Limit
Simple logic... real battles don't have time limits; however, in a game it is unfortunately required because without them spys/jerks could tie up opponents indefinetely not allowing others to atk them, so can't get rid of it completely... however, maybe increase the the time limit to 4 or 5 minutes (especially with the upcoming update that adds more buildings and such).
Why do haters needlessly comment their hateful opinions...

War Battles should be unique....
regular battles are 3 minutes but we don't usually go all out in regular battles and most people don't have super base layouts for regular battles... war battles are tougher and if considered on that and the sole basis of uniqueness then it makes sense to have an increased time limit... i think 4 minutes minimum (5 minutes at most)

in war players do go all out yes but...

It's not a fair chance for defenses
Even 3 starring a max th10 have seen possible in 3 minutes, if we believe in fair chances on both the sides then 3 minutes are enough, with th11 may be 3:30 min but 4 or 5 is just unfair.

you cannot learn probability and chance... your argument is invalid... the game is designed so that it's not possible to ALWAYS win EVERY battle and as such there's currently 5 possibilities...
1. 3 star
2. less than 3 star victory all units defeated
3. less than 3 star victory out of time
4. no star loss all units defeated
5. no star loss out of time
3:30 ACTUAL battle time MIGHT be enough but it's always best to leave some room for FUTURE developement(s) / additions so 4 minutes would definetely be enought and contrary to some nay sayers out there; 4 minutes WOULD NOT BREAK THE GAME.... all it does it give the attacker a little more time and make the game more fair but someone like you is only thinking of their own defense and worried they might lose more battles if there was a little more time. I'm for more fairness and 4 minutes war battle times... regular battles is iffy... i don't yet know what all they're adding so i don't know if it'd be necessary to increase regular battle times... just war times for sure.
this thread is good idea and valid argument...
...it's just most people are afraid of change even when it's for the good and they automatically cry we don't need this without giving the idea a good chance if any at all.
I don't see what's so difficult to understand...
Originally I had suggested an approximate time increase to 4 minutes total but this Rambo person who's only been a member for 8 days can't get it thru his head.... later another member added to this making a better idea suggestion that I support...
battle starts and gives 3 minutes; during that time if attacker surrenders then it's over... If there are no atking units in play when the timer hits 3 minutes then the atk ends right there. If there are units left in play when timer hits 3 minutes the list of playable atking units if any, disappears the match then eends when either the last atking unit dies or the last enemy bldg /unit is destroyed /killed. It's the same principle as clan war battles themselves... If someone is battling when clan war timer ends then the clan war continues till the last attacker finishes... If it's okay for clan war then why the heck wouldn't it be okay for the battles themselves. If you can't understand this explanation then you have a bigger problem that I don't think can be solved.

While 2 minutes for destroying a TH 5 is mostly enough, you will get problems when attacking the brand new TH 11. Maybe 15 more seconds for high TH-levels
Furthering a good slight change someone suggested...
Normal 3 minute time limit then depending on what units are left, based on a percentage of their total health and atk strength (I'll leave that to SC to decide what percentages), if normal 3 minute time runs out then all units and abilities left unplayed are disabled from being played or activated... the unit list disappears and all non essential stuff as well and it goes into OT (if there are any remaining units on the field). Basically it looks exactly the same as if you were watching a replay. Units remaining would be allocated a percentage time as mentioned earlier that allows them to do whatever they would've normally done and when OT time runs out the match ends. It is still my opinion for a 4 minute total time meaning 1 minute OT; however I'd be okay with 30 seconds OT for a total of 3:30. Ultimately I realize it would be best for SC to test this out to come up with a best possible OT time and if it would be even possible.
