Thank god I came here and started reading I'm currently 2 days away from a level 8 TH and I'm sure there are many things I need to upgrade before I reach it. My question is if I cancel the upgrade do I get the gems/gold back? I'd hate to lose it but I'm sure as you all would agree I should not rush into level 8 just yet even though I've already waited 5 days. I had no idea luckily I read hannibals article. Thank you.
I think you get half the gold back, so if the upgrade costed 2,000,000 gold, you'd get 1,000,000 back but lose the other 1,000,000. Trust me, canceling is worth it. Town hall 7 is the best town hall for gaining loot, and you'll get that back in 5-7 raids easily. Welcome to the forums :)
Thanks man it hurts losing those gems but after reading some of the posts here I almost committed suicide. Thank god for all of you folks.

If you're willing to read it's not insurmountable, but gemming storages is usually a bad sign.
You deffinatly made the right choice, whats your In Game Name and Clan Name? Or could you post a pic of your base?
Premature TH7 is not that a big deal, TH8 is more TH9 is insane so cancel it as somebody else said this and farm it up to maxxed th7 then move on maxxed and go on.
You'll get a clearly better game experience by doing this.
