How do you become a 3 star attacker??

I'm a th9, 90% maxed. I'm usually a solid 2 star attacker but I'm getting frustrated with 2 and would love to become a 3 star attacker. I read through the forums regularly and watch countless videos and research troop compositions. I've definitely done my homework. The problem I'm running into is knowing what troop composition is best for the base I'm going against. I also struggle with troop/spell deployment. I can do GoWipe pretty easily but that's when I just get 2 stars. Is there something I need to do or will it eventually just click? I am in a clan with my family members at the moment and they are not very strong. I almost feel like I should join a strong war clan and have someone teach me the ropes. How did YOU become a 3 star attacker? What do you feel is the most important thing to learn to be successful at 3? Troop comp, troop/spell timing/placement, understand base design, etc....

Try gowiva as a th9....same army as gowipe basiclly except make 10or 11 valks instead of pekka. Three stars on 9s all the time once you get used to the army.

I LOVE OneHive! I watch a lot of his videos, u can watch them all day but when it comes time to implementing the strategies I'm lost. Maybe one day it will just click.

In the same boat

I also have the same problem but will advise you to have the goho type of stratagy. Just lure the cc and aq and wave int the hogs. 4 heal or jump and 3 heal.

Try ONEHIVE videos! Jake is awesome! With 2 ADs grouped together, try a GoLaLoon to take those out, the queen, and the CC. With a easier base, try a GoHo from the queen side. ^^All that is explained by Jake from Onehive.

The best thing really is to just practice in multiplayer. The more you do it the more you get the hang of it and can recognize what bases go with what attacks.

The specifics are too many to list, but if you use 1 poison for cc troops 2 rage 2 heal.
Make sure you funnel your valks and heros into the core, and use rages and heals on the group of valks.

This strategy 3 stars virtually all town hall 9s dependant upon spell timing/placement and also hero levels and level of valks.

Level 10 heros roughly is suitable to 3 star almost all town hall 9s and obviously the higher your hero levels, the higher the probability of your success.
Max valks also make this more viable strat.

Found a new strategy today and 1st time I used it I got 3 stars on a th9. Army consist of 2 golem 3 lava hound (1 in CC) 7 wizards 14 loons and 1 minion. 4 quakes 1 heal and 1 rage. Object is to take out 2 air defenses and the archer queen with the golems wizards king and queen. The heal and rage spell is for the archer queen king and wizards to take out the cc troops and queen. Once 2 air defenses are taken out and the queen I then release 2 hounds on 1 side of the remaining air defense and then the other hound at the other one and spread out your 14 loons. Guaranteed a 3 star if done right and your queen don't go walking.

That's actually when I started 3 starring in war. I had to start with 3 starring TH8s because I haven't been a TH9 for very long. Troops are still mostly TH8 level. Once I consistently 3 star TH8, I moved to TH9. I still only got 2 stars for a while but gradually increased my average destruction. Last war, I was able to get 85% 2 star on enemy #3 TH9 (no defenses left; ran out of time) and a 3 star on #4 TH9. Both were about mid-TH9s. My favorite strategy to use is GoWiPe with backside Hogs to take out back defenses. Spells are 1 rage, 1 heal, 1 poison, 4 earthquake. Hope this helps!

Head to the grindstone man. Focus on the smallest of details in your attacks. Watch HowTo videos and learn from your clanmates. The best way to become a three star attacker is to surround yourself with three star attackers. Find a clan that is just starting to get into the three star game and absorb all their knowledge!

Thank you all so very much for the help! I'm so anxious to become a 3 star attacker. I used to think getting 2 stars against a max th9 was the equivalent to 3 stars. But not anymore. I'm almost maxed th9 with the exception of walls and I've only had 1 3 star attack. Granted, we only war once maybe twice a week but I want to be like you guys. 😁
