I see people mess this distinction up all the time. Nobody is complaining about low level scout attacks. They don't lead to people three starring a ten from watching a replay. what would a single barb drop tell them anyway.

Its simply Supercell can't do anything. Tell me one online game which isn't being ♥♥♥♥ed. Everything happens on client side and supercell somehow needs to pass information about traps to client, it can't be avoided so does ♥♥♥♥. If an information is present on client ofcourse it can be used to simulate attacks.
It seems that the single barb drop is part of a pattern. Refer to this thread on the forums.
This is the reason I suggest The Eminem Solution: You only get one shot. One player, one attack, one attack per base.

Sure, the modding is a problem. But you're basically suggesting that we replace wars with normal raids (without the option to next as much as we want). This brings the appeal WAY down for me. I like getting on clan chat and discussing strategies with the clan. Lot's of good tips to be learned from teammates during war time. My clan is mostly silent in the chat unless we are at war strategizing. It's a time when the whole clan comes together and takes part in the action. The war is about teamwork and your suggestion basically takes that away. I can just hit my "Attack" button if I wanted to be stuck with a blind attack with a predetermined army.
It also takes away the ability to designate who will attack which base to maximize the chances for a win. It would basically mean everyone would do mirror attacks and not much high or low attacking would happen much. It just seems like it would take a lot of the enjoyment out of the war aspect.
It's basically trading the bad luck of being paired against a modding clan with the bad luck of you bringing the wrong army to fight a base because you couldn't scout anything ahead of time.
Not worth all the trade-offs to me...
The one barb drop will give the exact cc troops and traps, it seems.

From what I've seen/heard they can simulate an attack on any base BUT won't know where the bombs, traps, teslas and so on are. And here comes into play that lone barbarian/archer attack, cos after this they can just watch the replay and see all the stuff they can't while simulating.
Sure, there could be a legit attack not necessarily a barbarian/archer dropped in a corner type of attack to get this unfair information, but the idea is that that lone barbarian/archer dropped in a corner type of attack is a CRYSTAL CLEAR indication of the role the attack played.
We had a barbarian dropped in a corner in one of our wars and needless to say a few hours our #1 player has been almost flawlessly attacked, but since karma is you know what he failed with just 2 stars and 80%. :D
But, sadly that act alone wasn't enough cos they had more then one practicing his attacks and we eventually lost. Win some, loose some. I get it, but loosing in an unfair matter is what takes all the fun away of the whole CW honestly.
I've submitted a ticket informing Customer Support about this but like everyone else that did this, or will do, was served the same message to record them and submit a link to the videos.
