I realize tar buckets are town upgrade items but I NEVER get them. Based on what players selling, I never see those sold but an over abundance of paint buckets and bricks. I am pretty active in the town area and really feel that more should come up. Can the randomness of this somehow be changed?
Yes same here I'm barely getting town items from townies.. mostly axes and mining tools:unsure:
I'm glad yall posted about this. I just gave up on my town because they never give me any TOWN TOOLS. All I get is axes and saws and other stuff I do not need.
Supercell, it's t.o.w.n. We need block, tar, drill, hammer, brick, paint. Remember those?
Please let me know when the town drops are fixed. Then I will re-open my ghost town.:mad:
Because we have had an update, I decided to try my town again. I ran 20 townies through it. I got One Tar and One Map. The rest were not Town Tools.
Granted, tar and map are rather rare items right now so I should be happy. But, I am not happy because I know the game simply read my barn and saw that I already have the required number of tar for my last building. The game is also well aware that my town is fully expanded and I have no need for maps.
Drill, Block, Hammer, Tar, Paint, Brick. These are the Town Tools that should be given by townies. We get axes, saws, dynamite, tnt, pickaxes, planks, panels, bolts, screws, tapes, and nails from the farm. We do not ever get Drill, Block, Hammer, Tar, Paint, or Brick from the farm. We can only get them from the town.
PLEASE FIX.

I leveled up in town 3 weeks ago and have only been able to upgrade 1 building. This is obviously a rampant problem so all players are hoarding TEMS even if their upgrade is Far in the future.
I have not gotten a single hand drill in over a week, and the paper used to be flooded with them. Since town drops and other players are our only source of TEMS something is obviously wrong. Please address this problem Supercell.

Yes, I decided I needed to upgrade all my town bldgs about a month ago. For me, I maxed in this order: number of slots first, time, then xp/rep pts. Since I had millions of coins I don't use when town was added, coin remains largely left alone.
When they added more upgrades, I maxed out speed and little else. So, another oldtimer in my nh did hers so I started. BNB was quick. The others, not so much. Got down to my last two bldgs, gift and beach cafe, I believe. I had everything, except, you guessed it, tar buckets. Needed 50 total. I think between me and my nh, it still took well over a week, maybe two, until I got enough.
All that said, I am a thousand times thankful that I get many other things than TEM there because I don't need them anymore. What some may want, others do not. But, look at it beyond town expansion. Increasing your barn and silo helps to feed townies as well as trees and bushes and mining. And, we get all of the above. I get far too many LEM but, since we expand the town using them, all are helpful and as appropriate as TEM.
Because town is the only place you can get hammer, drill, tar, paint, brick, or block, that is what should drop there in the majority. Right now, they drop in a ridiculous minority because Supercell is off fowling up the mailbox instead of monitoring the drop rate in town.:thumbsdown::mad::thumbsdown:
Please remember once your town gets to level 36 you will no longer need any upgrades. So as a lot of players are already on at least level 33 there will soon become a flood of town building upgrades in newspaper. I already sell all my stakes mallets land deeds to my hood / Followers as I no longer need them. All my land is bought.
Once my town building are at max I will do same for building upgrades. I guess then everybody be complaining of too many building upgrades in newspaper.
Have some patience hayday is not a game thats meant to have everything upgraded straight away thats part of the challenge. Why not chat in your hood and swop your extra saws & axes for tar. There are plenty of farms out there with dead bee bushes everywhere. I myself only keep 6 bee bushes thats plenty, to feed the bees.
To upgrade my town to next level 34 I guess i will need around 100 of each town upgrade to finish every building. That is why the higher level players are storing so much. Last two upgrades level 35 & 36 will be coins, not so important to most higher level players as the normally have a few million already. So as i said before as higher level players finish town upgrades soon you will be moaning there are to many in newspaper.

It is really bad. Tar buckets were always extremely rare in my town, but the other tools just aren't coming, and for that reason no one is selling. I can't blame them. So I repeat my plea and that of (almost) everyone in this thread. Please do something. Thanks.
please change the drop rate for the town upgrade items, i love my town and serving my townies and like to have my buildings upgraded. To collect 96 tar/hammer/stone is impossible right now....or better, it will take me about 3 years :smirk:
The only way I can get enough tem is by trading.:thumbsdown: and considering that we can't get them from fast methods like wheating
The town has been introduced in May 2014. and if everybody is STILL upgrading at the same time that means something isn't right with the drop ratio.

Yay other people are having the same problem as me. In recent weeks I've only got a small handful of tools for the town.
I'm really glad this is not just affecting me. I have literally had rage over hand drills stone blocks and hammers today. I have a level 32 town and upgrading is a nightmare right now. Please fix or bring on the flood of materials as the level 36 ers get finished .
So many people in the same boat, and the boat is sinking fast.
