Moats - The Next Wall
It would add an interesting dynamic to include the ability to build moats. It could be available in sections and upgradable, just as a wall. While there are many ways to defend ones Town Hall and resources, all defenses but the wall (and air sweeper) are defensive weapons designed to kill enemies. Adding a moat adds another way to slow attackers, rather than killing them. It would heighten the importance of strategy when attacking.

I like this idea, at first I thought you were talking about a new level of wall, but that would complicate things because you would need a way to "fill" them in or build something to get over them. But having them as a "defensive building" so to speak is a great idea, you would really have to strategize how to and when to use jump spells.

How would a moat slow down troops, exactly? (id est how much). It'd be nice to have but they need to be balanced effectively.
