TH8 attack strategies.

I can assure you, drags can 3 * any base at TH8. Same applies for any other war strat perfectly executed.

After Barbs, Archers, and Giants (or whatever you use to farm) upgrade drags to 3. Those will crush any max TH8 base, but any base with non maxed AD should be a steamroll-Rage heal for cored, and lightning for spread. Then, max your hogs. I neglected hogs, and really only used drags in war (BIG MISTAKE) seeing as I couldn't get 3 consistently. Hogs will crush any base with no cored dgbs. For cored dgbs, use a GoHo variant. If you're hitting cored AD's, try drag rage heal, or if it's completely maxed out, GoWiPe with backend loons-2 for each defense.

And I can assure you his claim of a 95% success rate is nonsense.

Further, your statement, using words like, "can" and, "perfectly executed" borders on meaningless, for it's either so general or so limiting, it amounts to nothing, especially since I never said it can't be done. I've 3* max TH8 bases with drags many times. But at a 95% success rate is pure hogwash.

I want to see proof of this so-called expert. The best people I've ever seen in CoC don't rip off 3* at that rate, using any attack, to say nothing about the same attack, over and over and over again...

If the guy told you that a black mamba snake made a good house pet, would you respond with, "This guy is an expert with snakes...chill"???

You can't choose a war strategy then execute it perfectly and triple any base. You have to design a strategy for the base at TH7+.

shrugs if you say so chief. i guess ppl with basic knowledge of funneling and dragloon dont have 100% success rate at th7 wit 3 lightning spells -_-

on th8, get ur hogs up. no need for goho as there`s no enemy aq.
we usually use hogs or drag/drag loon. some poorly design bases can be gowiped with backend hogs or loons, if they are very open

You specifically said you were 3* max th8s at a 95% rate even before EQ came out. It has nothing to do with TH7s... And you mention th8 several times in your posts, so it sure borders on impossible you meant th7s and/or it was a mistype...

Lol kids these days. Lightning spell upgrade started today. 4 days until I'm a 3 star specialist... Again. Piece of advice. Dont go to th9 if you cant 3 star any th8 base. And dont go to th10 until you can 3 star any th9

Executing this correctly will keep more 3 stars coming in. Learn to solo hog (well, actually, hogs supported by a CC kill squad).

Then upgrade your hogs to L4, and unlock valkyries, golems, and PEKKAs. Use your L4 hogs to hog like a beast.

Then you'll have your PEKKAs, valks, and golems unlocked. Upgrade your wizards to L5.Learn to GoWiPe, and/or GoViz. Yes, GoWiPe has a rather earned reputation as a 2 star method. However these methods teach you how to create proper funnels, how to use tanking troops, and how to establish rhythm in golem strategies. Learn to add hogs/loons to the end of the GoWiPe for a serious 3 star strategy.

Why would you need GoWiPe knowledge? Aren't hogs enough? Yes and no. When you approach the end of your TH8 experience (maxing out), you will find that some bases in war require an attack with a little more punch...that is where the GoHo comes in. This is a hybrid between the TH9 GoWiWi attack combined with Hogs - a method used by many TH9 players. Can't use this hybrid well if you don't know anything about how the GoWiXx part of the attack works. You may even see the need to upgrade your golems, if you prefer the extra tanking power.

Notice the progression - TH8 means you no longer get to use "fire and forget" mass dragons and get 3 stars all the time - because even mass dragons gets technical here. Learn to piece your armies together to fit the base you're attacking. Hogging is not like dragons - learn to scout bases well. Learn to lead your troops on spell deployment. Learn to Lure/CC kill well. Learn to funnel. Learn to funnel and tank.

Want to be a successful TH9 some day? Learning all this makes that happen.

Dragons, DragLoon, Dragons+Hogs, Hogs, GoWiPe, and GoHo should chart your course for the next several months. All are great methods. Use each in their due time.

OP, if I were you I would copy and paste this post into a text file on your computer and use as a reference tool.

I also would strongly agree with several other posters in the fact that dragons are not the answer for a maxed TH8. I have a maxed TH8 and had another that I just upgraded to th9 and they have been 3 starred a total of 1 time since about halfway maxed. If this post grows you'll find more and more posts that will offer the same opinion. Dragons simply can't 3 star maxed th8's with any consistency. At least not the 2 bases I use.
